New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

hi all, just a quick question about my 0561. again, i couldn't be happier with this knife, but one thing: this is my first framelock and sometimes the lock is REALLY hard to disengage, and i have to use both hands or i can't get it to unlock. does this sort of thing work itself out with use? i read somewhere about putting pencil lead on the blade tang where it engages, but that seems like a temporary fix. what would cause this in the first place on some knives and not others? just the angle of the blade tang and the lockbar? (btw, i get about a 40% lockup if i open it gently and 50%+ if i flip it) thanks!

My 0560 was the same. A quick rub of pencil lead made it butter smooth immediately. Constant flipping for a week made it unnecessary to repeat the pencil treatment.

Not yet. Still waiting. Congrats, Uncle :D
thank you! :thumbup::thumbup:

Just sent my 560 in for warranty work. Called the store where I had a pre-order in for a 561 since July 31st, to see when I may get it. They have received 15 so far, and sent them out to the first 15 folks with preorders. They said they expect their next batch in June! I am #39 on their preorder list...:(

I just sent an email to Dave to see where i am on the list. I'm hoping more hits the dealers soon. It wouldn't kill me to wait till june, but i would rather not.

It would be less of a chore if I hadn't had to send the 560 in...or if I didn't think this was one of the best knives I've ever held in hand.

Wow, I love that 0301. I seen one the other day where someone had gotten a regrind on it, and it looked sick! I used to not be into the whole satin finish/polished blades, but now I really love them. I choose them over black coated all the time now. I'd love to send my 0301 for some work like that too. Someone want to point me in the right direction?

Also...Still waiting on a 0560. :( No email from Dave. Been contacting everybody, they're all sold out. The ones I see on the Exchange everyone wants to charge 60-100 bucks over price. I'm impatient, but not -that- impatient. I have to get me one of these things. I seriously do.

These just get better with use. I'm on I think Day 3 with mine. It's totally smoothed out. The only minor thing is a bit of a clank from the pocketclip when the detent ball pop in when closing it. The stiff lockbar is now much looser and I don't have to two hands to push it back to close the knife. It's still stiff enough though and locks up tight. I never had any issues with it sticking. I can't tell if the lockbar has been carbidized but the face doesn't look any different than regular titanium. I assumed there would be some evidence of carbide being deposited but there isn't any. I've never had any issues with any of my titanium framelock knives though that I know had not been carbidized. I said that I'd still swap with the 0300 occasionally because I REALLY like the 0300 but I think the 0560 is just as beefy and after carrying it around for a few days I think it's just right to maybe a tiny bit light where the 0300 was maybe a tad bit too heavy. I may change my mind after I can get my 0300 blade stripped and stonewashed but for now the 0560 is my new best friend and I'm not going to worry about the 0300 at all! It's just going to have to go cry in the corner about having been kicked out of my pocket.

First post here. I came to this forum to read about the 056x and love it here. Luckily I only found out about them a couple months ago and haven't had to wait as long as some of you. LOL

I was also lucky to find a local ZT dealer and he got around 10 0560s in the other day. I really wanted a 0561, then I talked myself out of either, then went to just have a look and the thing sold me after a few flicks. So I got the 0560, serial #221.

BTW this forum sold me on the Skyline too. This place is bad. :) Here's a pic of this years knifes so far. Hope the link works.

ZT 560, serial number 0555 came in for me today. YIPPEEEEEEEE! I can't find anything to complain about, and LOVE the knife. It's a large blade, light weight, thin, ergonomic and is well balanced in the hand. The smooth deployment is great. ZT, WELL DONE!!

Got mine in today, I like it so far, had to loosen the pivot a bit, although my ZT 200 is still much smoother, I also tried flipping it open with the knife vertical, (tip down when closed to tip pointing up when open) the 200 opened 10/10 times, the 560 opened 6/10 times, might loosen up with use perhaps, besides that I'm very happy with it, and it also makes me appreciate my 200 even more.

Some more comparison pics: 0560, SMF, SnG.
The SnG is what got me thinking...how great a sized down ~3.5" 0560 would be.

I just received a email from KC, that my 0560 was shipped. A little bit unexpected since I ordered 02/10/12.
But I'm very happy that my ZT is on it's way to me 😄.
