New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

Well after two days in limbo with the post office my 0560 (ser.#0461) arrived today and I have nothing but good to say about it. Fit and function are pretty much above reproach. Centered blade, shaving sharp, smooth, solid......it's all good. Deployment with either the flipper or studs is easy and positive. Thanks to all at ZT/Kershaw and Roger and crew at KW!

Yup yup...just be mindful not to put any pressure on the lockbar.

I'm no stranger to framelocks.....but I'm not getting it:confused: Did I miss something? I'm right handed, when using the stud, I'm not putting any pressure on the lockbar. Hell, even if I was this model has the stabilizer on it.

There must be a joke somewhere in your post that I missed!:D

I got my 0560 from gpknives on Monday and all I can say is WOW!!! Thomas and crew did an outstanding job in fit and finish and this one came flawless. It's #539 and it's perfectly centered and buttery smooth. Blade just touched my knuckle and the blood started pouring! Sharp is an understatement! 9 months waiting was well worth it. Now the search for a carbon fiber scale!

Got my 0560 yesterday, and it's a beast, love it.

But, my blade doesn't deploy easily, that detent is firm! Did you guys do anything to yours to make it smooth/easy?

Time. Just a little time and use and it will smooth out alot. If you use your knives a lot within a week you will see a noticeable difference in ease of opening.:D

Lots and lots of flipping. I've had mine just a few days and its super smooth now. But I'm flipping it constantly. I've been sitting here on my phone watching the other night's Top Shot and flipping my 0560 while flipping through the forum with my left hand.

shazam!

Great work, peter r!

Especially love the Orange...and the Orange & Black, right below it!

Of all the stupid...sonofa...dumb...

Ok then my knife shipped from KC UPS very slowly made its way across the country to suisun CA(where I live). Then got transferred to the ******* USPS office literally 6 blocks from my house. It will be here tomarrow.

I had let go of the anticipation but this just jacked it back up lol.

Sticky locks are a pain ..... Iam sending it in to Kershaw tomorrow , my thumb cant take it no longer ....LOL

Did you try some pencil lead on the lock surface? That helped mine a lot. Also, I dehorned all the sharp edges, and that made a huge difference in comfort when using the knife.

To me .......pencil lead is a temp. fix (wheres off fast)
I have two of these , the other is fine .........I kind of like the jimping on the lock .....LOL
I,d rather not screw with it , it cost to much for that so I dont wanna void any warranty.
My other one was a little sticky and it broke in eassily .......this one not so.

Yea, I was a bit reluctant at first too. The 560 is the most expensive knife I own. I took it REAL SLOW. You can't even tell I did anything just by looking at the knife. But, it sure made a difference. And, since I did the pencil lead the lock on mine has smoothed out great. But, I sure understand where you're coming from. If I wasn't happy with mine I'd sure send it in as well.

Its not like I dont have another one to play with while its gone ....LOL
The 0561 came perfect , real good ...........this one just slipped through quality control Iam sure.

I guess I got lucky with the lock on mine. I expected at least a little stickiness being a new knife but it opens easy no matter how I open it.

I spent an hour or so smoothing out all the hot spots in the jimping and scale. The flipper action after a 1/2 dozen or so deploys is now very stiff and gritty. Sounds like an old door hinge. Detent is now very sticky as well.
