New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

It has arrived. I am impressed flawless flipping every time. Its amazing. the thumb studs work fine but it flies out so fast when I use em. this knife is no joke, its got a big ass handle yet all the weight is in the blade. ser.1327

I returned #0463 after owning it one day. Sticky lock & sharp jimping.
(Took 2 hands to disengage lock at times)
I asked those two things be worked out & tuned. Came back today (about a week round trip)
Its now Perfect & gets to ride in my pocket.
Great customer service & fast turn around.
Didnt want to mention it here till I gave 'em a chance to repair.
They came through with flying colors.

Hmm... I got my 0560 from kershawguy today. It's a little squeaky even after adding some oil. The lockbar is pretty strong and hard to use. It's also not super loose like in most of the videos and it's kinda slow to pop out. Maybe I just need to use it some more?

Also, mine has the wider cut titanium, does it matter vs the laser cut?

Asked kershawguy last April 16 if he had 0560s in stock. He replied on the same day saying he's expecting a shipment to come in and that he can put me on the
list. I replied that I would appreciate if he did.

3 days later, he sends me an email saying my name was up for the 0560. Sent him payment.

Knife shipped out the next day!!

Eagerly anticipating its arrival while drooling over all your wonderful pics!!! :D

Literally, just got my 0561. So far I like it a lot! The first time I opened it up I thought I slit my finger open...LOL You guys weren't playing when you said the jimping is sharp, on the left side more than the right. It did get me though when I tried to use the thumb studs. The stud slid under my thumbnail and my thumb started to bleed...oh well.

Like I said I just literally got it and I'm sure it will get better, but I'm not feeling this buttery smoothness of the pivot everyone talks about. It actually feels gritty. It flys out and I can close it without even touching the blade, but it feels a little jerky as you open or close it slowly. I'm sure using it will solve this though.

Overall, I am very happy with my first Kershaw/ZT/Hinderer knife.

Try not to judge it it until you've had time to get use to it...it took me few days to get good at using the thumb studs but now its very easy and mine just got smoother and smoother with use. The first day or so I couldn't close it without catching my thumb with the flipper but it's not the knife, it's just that I hadn't gotten use to the movement needed to make it open and close properly but soon enough I did and I couldn't be happier with the knife. Trust me, if you use it for a while you'll get the hang of it and you'll be very impressed.
Enjoy!

I got my ZT0560 this morning from kershawguy and I don't know if I should report this or not, but I can't find anything wrong with it.

The blade is centered as it should be, the flipper works great, the detent, jimping and lock up are perfect, and believe it or not I have no problem using the thumbstuds to open it. :D

As a matter of fact the thumb studs was the first way I opened it and it opened so fast I wasn't ready for it. If you can open a ZT0550/0551 you shouldn't have any problem with the ZT0560/0560.

Mine may be the exception but everything about it is great. Thanks ZT and kershawguy.

My 560 was as smooth as butter. But my 561 was a little gritty also. After you've broken it in a bit, like flipping it a couple hundred times. Try taking it apart and cleaning some of the grease (and the grit that goes with it) out of the pivot and re-lubing it. This helped mine tremendously.

I got mine yesterday and I am loving this. My finger is getting a little raw from flipping it so much! Really enjoying it!!

Solid, smooth Opening (no grit like I have hear), no machining marks whatsoever from what I can tell, solid, centered, great texture on the titanium and g10, razor (arm shaving) sharp, flips open well with both flipper and thumb studs, etc. And the opening is so smooth it's like the blade just glides on glass or something.

The only thing I can find that I'm less than pleased with is the pocket clip (which, as far as I'm concerned isn't a reflection on the knife itself). For my carrying purposes and preferences - I think I would prefer something less deep in the pocket. This handle is HUGE but to pull it out of the pocket there's hardly anything to grab on to. It also really fills up my pocket and "hits bottom" so it doesn't just hold there naturally. Perhaps it was just my one pair of pants I was wearing yesterday, but this was the only thing I would prefer if it was different.

Switching is the plan! Just gotta find a compatible one that would hold it a little higher in the pocket.

Would the Hinderer clips be compatible?

Take the clip off or switch it with a different one. A problem easily solved!

The Hinderer XM clip will fit. If you find anything else, please let me know. This is my single dislike about the knife as well.

Simple google search found this for me:
http://www.knifekits.com/vcom/product_info.php?cPath=60_101_331&products_id=1723

This looks like it would work well, but i havent got my rule out yet to measure. I have no experience with this company nor their products either:

I have used knifekits.com for 2 different orders. I bought some springs for my auto's and some backspacers for my BM710 from them. I had zero problems and will likely order from them again. My orders were shipped same day, and I got them in around 4 days. Hope that helps.

The quality of the products was very good. In fact, the springs I got from them have been much better quality than the standard BM springs that came with my knives.

For 3 bucks+shipping I think it's worth ordering just to try it out. Good luck.
