New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

The watch in this photo:
http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb170/forrest200713/IMG_0631.jpg

is an Omega Seamaster.

http://www.amazon.com/Omega-2221-80...FAZ4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1304782122&sr=8-2

The band is 20 mm wide. In this picture the band is 118 pixels wide and the titanium lock side is 620 pixels. Converting to inches, that puts the handle at a length of 4.13 inches.

In the photo I have linked to, I have scaled a ruler so that the handle is exactly 4.13 inches long. Love it or hate it, this puts the blade at 3 inches if the CAD model is still accurate.

Dont know why I couldn't inline the picture so if somebody with more talent than me can do it, it would be great.

Don't ya just hate nerds with their pocket pen caddies, calculators, little rulers and stuff? :D

I estimate that this blade will be 2.9999999" long HEH HEH!

Also, in the CAD rendering that I linked to with the ruler added, 1 inch = about 64 pixels... so each pixel is 1/64" if anyone wants to pull any other dimensions. That puts the thickness at 15/32" or about half inch. Overall length when opened is around 7 1/4".

4" blade= chuck norris level bad assness
3" blade= seagal level bad assness.

just sayin:D(glad I live in indiana with no length restriction)

I had thought about doing a photogrammetric analasys of that photo as well, but since the handle and the watchband are not in the same plane it would be difficult to gauge the size of the handle accurately.
The handle is also not parallel to the focal plane, which means you would have to correct the perspective of the handle before measuring it. This can be done, but accuracy will be reduced.

Just to give an idea, here is a pic of a RAM, in my hand. The handle is about 4.25 inches. It seems unlikely that my hand is that much larger than Craig's (if, indeed it is Craig's).

My guess is that the handle is a fair bit larger on the new knife.

your making my head hurt with all this math and science talk, but I think that's a good thing???

Yeah, the watch calculation was a good idea, but I don't think it's accurate. If we can assume that they use the same Hinderer stabilizer or body screws as on the 0551, we can come up with a better estimation.

My money is on 3.75, thats a mighty BIG handle. As far as length, if I did somehow get dinged for a > 4" blade, it would be the end of both my jobs if prosecuted. Now if that CCW would just hurry up and get approved...
