New ZT0550 Thread !!!

Unlike most of these cats, I'm really looking to get this as my solitary work horse folder for many years to come ... there were a few things that I thought that I would have done differently ... wanted a black blade, not sure how that brick pattern was going to look, wasn't sure about the elmax vs. some of the other great steels out there ... but I think it is looking like it really came together. Doesn't look like I'd want to change anything.
 
Had to cut the elk hunt short,and come home empty-handed,after waiting 13 years....deer season so far has been a washout....gotta daym video speeding ticket....needed some great news when I logged back on today!

I'd think they would shoot for about a 59-60 HRC.
 
Ok, I've finally lost track of some details in this thread. Which model is which color blade and steel? :) And which model is shipping to dealers first?
 
All I want differently for the 0550 is a spanto tip and a flipper. Ideally a 4.25" blade and 9.25" OAL aswell :thumbup: :D :thumbup: the rest can stay the same, fine by me. The 0551 is a great xm18 nod, now its time for a xm24 nod!

0551 (sprint run) is stonewashed. It is the one pictured a few pages back. Elmax steel.

0550 is black, vanax steel.

i have a few questions... will the 0550 have that choil shown in the photos shown a while back, or will it look more like the 0551 without the large choil? when will the 0550 be out? will there be any options for the 0550 ie. black blade? what will be the blade steel for the 0550? and what is the estimated price for the 0550? sorry for the overload of questions but im curious/anxious and dont really want to go through all the forums about it...

You could SEARCH for the info.. has been answered several times...

im feeling nice though... so..

No Choil. Late 2010 early 2011. Black Blade. Vanax 35. MSRP250 (I think?).

no clue if any of that is right.
 
I have purchased the 0551 preorder from KnifeCenter but they still advertise Vanax steel for the 0551 as well as the 0550 so I assume their web page is just inaccurate and I should be getting Elmax.
