New ZT0550 Thread !!!

So excited, thanks Rick for the perfect design! Thanks Thomas for the build and keeping us in the loop, the frame and blade appear to have the same finish, did the blade get blasted or is it stonewashed? Should I call my eye doctor? Can not wait to put this beast to use
 
I just pre-ordered the 551 at knifecenter. They said delivery time is 3-4 weeks from now :( I can wait.
 
Havent read all the posts on the many threads, but is there an update when his is coming out ??? I am on kershawguys list and havent heard anything yet ???

Knife looks AWSOME by the way, nice to see finished pics of it !!!
 
I have updated the thread, 0551 preorder in the Dealer exchange. It is getting exciting now, can't wait,

The 0551 was never a XM18 nod. It was fashioned after the Hinderer camp knife. The 0550 will never be a XM24 nod either because it is the regular version of the ZT 0550/0551 series. The 0551 is the limited edition.

Now if only ZT will come out with user changeable scales :p

I hope to be picking up my order on Friday and may be sending payment info tomorrow evening. For those of you on the standby list, it is looking very good, there is a very good chance I will be able to supply a Knife to everyone that has signed up with me on any list. If you don't receive an email tomorrow and you hear that some people have , don't worry, I have a lot to send and no way to do it in mass, so please be patient.

It's like Christmas Eve is upon us and we'll all have trouble sleeping the next few nights.
 
Waiting for an email will definitely be ruining my productivity. At least my office-mate is out and I can look at the pictures without getting reported.

My bladeforum disease is progressing. I keep wanting two of every knife.

Only two? You've barely caught the disease then ;)

I know the feeling. I wouldn't own half the knives I do if it wasn't for BF and the members here. But that's part of the fun, feeding the habit with fellow sufferers.

Someone else posted that it's an exciting time to be a knife nut. I agree with that too. I feel like a little kid at Christmas. :p

Im mostly joking though, super stoked for the knife and that there are enough to go around! Im not one to care for such things as long as the function is fine.
 
Although we've seen in hand shots and various cool angles covered by Thomas - I'm definitely curious to see how it feels in the pocket as well as in a death grip while cutting heavy material (double walled cardboard). This is just too much, one of the best collabs of the decade no contest. It's going to be hard to top this one gents, but ZT has always provided some of the highest quality items bar none. :D
 
I haven't been this excited about a new folder that I knew was coming in a long time. I hope I like it as an EDC as much as I like looking at the pictures! I have a very expensive end of year coming up for knives. I have two of the 0551's coming, I'll likely grab a 0550 even though I prefer uncoated blades too, Plus I have a preordered HEST folder (standard), I'm on the standby list for the LE HEST folder (again, even though I prefer uncoated blades) , I have to pay for two CF S90V Paras tomorrow too! And that's not even my entire list of preorders.

The 0551 is a SEXY knife and looks just as apt as it does sexy. Good job to ZT and Rick. It is the 0551 that took me out of a "same old thing" funk with knives. I didn't have an abundance of interest in hard use folders until this rendering came out. Since then I've acquired two Hogues, I have the two 0551's and the HEST folders coming. I'm liking my new twist in my knife life.
