New ZT0550 Thread !!!

i'm picking out a nice piece of para-cord for this bad boy! and maybe a Atwood lanslide to boot.............

I'm thinking of flaming the Ti as long as it doesn't hurt anything and a carbon fiber or two tone G10 handle, nicely sculped of course. Maybe a trip to STR for a custom Ti clip.

Got to handle Rick's 0550 today at the NYCKS. Needless to say, I was impressed. I am now more impatient than ever to get my hands on my 0551. This thing feels excellent in the hand. The way it fits in the hand just makes you want to immediately cut stuff with it. I was highly impressed by the overall build and quality. The blade shape and size is going to be perfect for EDC. You guys are going to love this thing when you get it. It's just a solid design with a rock solid build. :thumbup:

On another note, Rick said that if everyone likes this 0550/0551 then we are going to absolutely be blown away by the next ZT/Hinderer model in line. Rick was tight lipped and there were no details leaked, but I could see the excitement on his face and, to me, that says a lot. I have a feeling we're in for something that may garner even more attention than the 0550/0551. :eek:

Thanks for the update from the NYCKS. Sounds like this is just the beginning of a very exciting collaboration. Will we see a Spanto?;)

I would like to see something very long and very pointy, a pure SD knife that would scare any guys that would dare come at you with their XL Espadas, big Rajahs and Madd Maxxs.
 
I'm thinking the next one will be a spanto and a little more XM like in shape/design. Hopefully.

Hey Tony! Good on you for getting to the show and chasing down the 0551. You must have had a grin knowing that you were one of the first getting to handle the final version of a knife that has caused more excitement than....anything in the history of knives so far (barring prehistoric/dark/middle ages). I haven't bought a new knife in around two months, which is almost as long as I have been looking forward to this one, and even though I have been so busy I hardly check my normal BF haunts I have been checking this thread every day. Can't wait.

Btw, did you get your Higo? :)

Prediction: the next ZT/Hinderer collaboration will be a totally new design that Rick has been thinking about for a while but has never fabbed up himself. And it will be BIG. Either that or it will be a ZT pen with a fold out blade and flamethrower. Count it.
