I know there will be a minimum of at least 2 variations. :) The ELMAX and the Vanax versions. After that who knows...

That's cool Thomas, thanks. Sorry for all the interrogation type questions, haha. It's just that this one is kind of a big deal to a lot of us.:)

;)
*cough*S90V 2nd version*cough*

Oh yea, Rick made a design change (Shhhh....it's a secret).

What?...I can't tell everything.

MSRP will be $250
I'm hoping he opted for a bigger pivot, but that seems unlikely.

My guess is he tweaked the choil. Maybe enlarging it??

What do you mean?

Sorry Thomas. What I meant (for me personally) the composites with the brassy color dividing lines, like the wavy JYD 2 and the Volt with the multiple racing stripes, look goofy on the blade. I like blades that are of one metal & finish top to bottom - end to end. :)

Maybe he added a flipper?

The ELMAX variation will incorporate a stonewashed finish, and a standard backspacer.

What's a standard backspacer? A pillar or a chunk of material? Thanks I'm "challenged" about some of these terms. :)

I'm guessing it means that it will be the same backspacer you see in the pictures without the glassbreaker. Pillars are standoffs and a backspacer is one solid piece of material.

Thanks Tony8179 ... :)

Let's hope its a bigger pivot. That would be epic.

I don't get this remark that keeps coming up? Surely any knives made by Rick/ZT would have adequate pivots no? Do the "prototype" pictures portray something that I'm not seeing?

I hope that we're all happy, surprised in a good way and that there's enough for every member who wants one, to get one!

Maybe he added a flipper?

Im hoping that's it! But that would seem like a radical change, cause that one change might require a ton of other changes, like changing the pivot location and stuff, which affects the entire knife.

I also hope he added a flipper, and I agree, That would make this the best production knife ever.

please please make it a flipper

Nice. I'm on a pre-order list.

I was told by this dealer that I can tell some folks through PM about this pre-order list. I'm not going through this entire thread to look for members who want in on a pre-order so if you're interested PM me and I'll give you the contact info for the dealer.

Plus, don't make me look like an ass. If you pre-order through this dealer stick with the pre-order and pay when it comes time.

I have no PMs yet....:(
I guess we can always wait for Kershawguy to make an announcement, works for me ;)

A beefier pivot is ok just as long as it doesn't have that nut. That looks so unfinished to me. I'm fine with what it has on it now. I also don't mind the composite blade personally. Everyone has their opinion of what looks good and I think the Volt looks amazing. I am confident in the CB strength and think it looks very modern and advanced or 'elite' or something. At it's current size it is a medium sized knife and looks to be proportional. I don't think it needs to be turned into a pry bar. Slicers work best for 95% of what a knife should be asked to do.
