I do believe the choil wasn't really necessary. It isn't that much of a blade, since it's 0350's size, and there are no recurves so you don't really need a choil. I think the overall design would be better and more pleasing to the eye that way. Cool!

Well Rick definitely is one of the best so I believe he'll put out a great knife. I'm wondering if he's going to put some jimping on the bottom - or leave that little pseudo-flipper thingy there to prevent forward movement of the hand in a stabbing scenario. See what I mean? Draw a straight across the bottom of the knife. Hope that makes sense.

That's a good question, brother. I'm hoping the mini-finger guard remains.

Yes, the finger guard is definitly staying! I consider it a very important design element that your hand can not slide forward on to the blade!

You think of everything! Good work Rick these are going to be great and more usable edge too.

Hey guys! Here is another design change for you all. I deleted the choil...Actually that was one of the first changes that I wanted to do after I got to handle the prototype...After I played with it I decided that this particular blade profile would be better without the choil....plus it gives you a full 1/4 in more cutting edge! With the design of the handle done in such a way as to bring your hand more forward up on the blade having this extra cutting edge closer to the rear of the blade will give you really strong cutting force in this area. Holding the knife with this design of handle makes it almost feel like your choking up on the knife anyway. The line drawing that Thomas is putting up will show it. You guys are gonna love it!

Thanks again for all your support!

Thanks, Rick. Looks like a nice a nice alternative to my XM-18 http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

^^An already sick design just got sicker!:thumbup:

Wow I'm really diggin that a lot more now than I was with the choil. Yup I'm definately gonna have to swap this one for my 350.

the latest picture looks perfect. The glass breaker on the end was making me doubt whether to buy it now it is awesome. I was doubting it because i thought it would stab into your hand with certain grips and i didn't want to have to go and grind it down after just buying it. So Thomas great choice if you did decide to rid of the glass breaker/ sharp edge. It is going to be a big seller if the latest pic is anything to go by.

WOW I didn't think this could get better.....it just did!

The blade shape is perfect, love the jimping. I'm going to need to own 2 of these for sure, kick out any other versions I'll buy them too.

This knife is looking GOOD! Every revision is dead on and I am ready to plunk down my $$ :)
