New ZT0550!!!

I apologize for jumping on your comment. I pictured doing a grind from the last pics posted of the blank unground blade. Some factory edges leave alot of work for the consumer. Some come perfect and need nothing more than a stropping. I was not trying to take this thread off course.

So Strider has designed a ZT knife, Hinderer has. Will Chris Reeve be next?

You forgot about Ken Onion and Grant and Gavin Hawk. :)

As to knifenut1013's request, I understand why he asked for an unsharpened knife but I'm sure he knew the chances of getting one was slim to none. I guess it never hurts to ask though. :p
 
I thought Ken Onion had involvement in the first batch of ZT knives. Was he already gone when these were started?
 
I haven't heard of a Strider or Ken Onion collaboration ZT. Ken is the guy who developed speedsafe though right? The ZT 0300s look like Galayean (spelling?) influence to me. :)

The 0300 is the Onion / Strider collaboration.

You mentioned who had designed ZT knives. This thread is about the 0550 but you mentioned Strider so I thought you were talking about who has designed ZT knives up to this point.
 
It is a sweet line of knives. I am pumped for the 551 and any others that get designed by Rick. I have the JB-2 and the 301. The 301 is a beast! It would be cool to see a pic of the 301 next to the 551.
 
I could have sworn there was an auto done by Tim also, but I don't see it anywhere on Kershaw's site anymore. I think kneedeep has one, and posted some beautiful pics of it.

Could be wrong tho. I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I didn't know that. :o Is there a place to find the history of ZT folders and the collaborations? It's getting interesting to me. :)

I found this out in Wikipedia but don't know who did what with who and when, what models etc. except for what you mentioned about the 0300.

Zero Tolerance, a new line of combat knives. The Zero Tolerance line represents joint designs between custom knife makers Ken Onion, Tim Galyean, and Strider Knives; a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each knife is donated to the Outdoor Recreation Heritage Fund for the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

Thanks, I should have looked there first....dohh. I don't see any Strider look about my ZT 0301. I see ken Onions hand in it and I assumed the curvy blade was Tim Galyean.

I guess Mr. Galyean didn't do any of them since his name isn't listed?

Oh well - love 'em. I've got my tank 0301 and the mystery Hinderer collaboration on the way - God willing. If it's anything like my Hinderers already purchased - there's going to be a lot of happy campers!!

I think the coolest change Thomas made was to give it the stand-offs instead of the G-10 backspacer! :D :thumbup:
 
OK. But what's new with the ZT/Hinderer collaboration (aka 0551)??? Is there an updated ETA???
