New ZT's for 2017 what do you love?

Quick question, are all of these regular production or are some limited editions?

They generally identify the LE's pretty clearly, and don't include them in the catalogue (to my recollection). So - pretty sure these are all production.

That's good, was debating if I should shoot for the preorder or just wait for them to be released

I'm pretty stoked for the new les george model. The others don't interest me in the slightest.

I'm surprised at the amount of nagativity but to each his own have to add the 0920 to my list of most anticipated ZTwill be getting g some of my $ this year

Why? ZT original fan base weree fans of the hard use and practical knives they made. These knives are not hard use, or very practical looking. The new knives look very gimmicky, needlessly outlandish lines, not very practical and just something collectors will buy but nobody will actually use. Basically, these new knives are the complete opposite to what Zero Tolerance original customers enjoyed and the reason they bought ZT knives? Not very surprising at all about the negativity from this 2017 line up.

I am going to pick up the 0055 GTC collab. Always wanted an airborne. The 0850 is on my list as well.

I bet you that my 0606 will take more of a beating and cut better than the old 300's ever will personally, on what basis is the claim "not hard use" based. ZT is still using larger pivots, high end steels and relatively thick locking interfaces? Just because it is pretty does not mean it cannot do the job.

Pretty sure you can haRd use these knives and they'll hold up just fine, y'know doing things that a folding knife was designed to do not what a fixed blade was designed to do

What's the blade length on the 0460? Where is the info on it anyway...

ZT still makes hard use knives and even none arty stuff. Case in point, the 0909....In fact looking at their lineup, they have many. So they introduce art knives...why does that piss people off?

I'm not just talking about the 300 series, I'm talking about the 0560 etc Also... the 0606 last time I checked isn't in the 2017 line up so I wasn't talking about it.

I just find alot of the designs too busy for my liking. I do like the 0920 alot though. The Airborne is cool as a collector knife, I even like the shape of the 0850. I think that the issue is alot of people feel the knives are built for collectors more than users. This is despite most those who feel that way are collectors themselves.

I find it funny how some zt fans cant admit some of these designs are weird. I love Spyderco but can admit some of their design are strange.

They didn't make any this year. I'm talking about the 2017 line up. So what are you talking about? I'm not complaining about what they made made in the past. And, lets be honest... the 0909 is an inferior knife to the 0300 series and the 0560. The emerson collabs are hard use knives also which 1/2 were discontinued.

Last year, I passed on 3 of the new ZT production models: 0220 (didn't like the looks), 0804CF (too big & black) and 0909 (too heavy).

This year, I'm in for all five new models for different reasons.

  • 0055: The GTC design elements and technology, the relatively low price of $220 and only 5 ounces for a 3.75" blade
  • 0460: Great light (2.3 ounces) EDC for $180. No extra holes for multiple clip carry or lanyard is a major plus. It will join my 4 different 0450 series models.
  • 0801TI: Need it to join my 10 other 0801 series models.
  • 0850: Simply a ZT LE in disguise and a very unique one-of-a-kind design. No extra holes for multiple clip carry or lanyard is a major plus. So light at 4.3 ounces with a 3.75" blade of 20CV. Nice CF and sub-frame lock. Well worth the $320.
  • 0920: Big Les George titanium frame lock KVT flipper with 20CV for $240. Weighs just 5.4 ounces compared to last year's 090 at 7.5 ounces. Still too big but it's light.

I don't believe the 909 is inferior to the 560. I own both and they both handle everything I throw at them just fine.
Curious to what makes the 909 inferior...?

Personally, I'll be picking up the 4 new ones from ZT this year. I love the direction they're going contrary to what seems to be the majority opinion. *shrugs*

Don't think that just because there is a handful of haters hear, that you are in the minority. The reception elsewhere has been phenomenal.

ZT knows what sells and clearly huge heavy way overbuilt super thick knives don't see no matter how much the haters don't want to acknowledge it.
