Hello everyone!
New to bladeforums and although I use to collect knives starting as a teenager, I haven’t been active in quite some time. Sadly, I sold off most of my collection some years ago, of course now I regret doing so. My question to you all here on the forums, is what would make me a great everyday carrying pocket knife that wouldn’t be too bulky and that would be handy for helping with every day chores. Many thanks in advance and I’m looking forward to being here.

There are literally hundreds if not thousands of knives which would fit that bill...from very inexpensive to quite expensive.

It would help if you would supply more info as to what you will do with it, and what size limits you might want to restrict it to, or where you reside might impose. Also if there is something in particular you like the looks of.

Give us some parameters to work with...in other words.

First off, welcome aboard...

As far as a non-bulky, handy, daily chore blade, I'd recommend going with a Victorinox pioneer. That'll do just about anything you might need from cutting to turning a few screws, and it won't break the bank.

Once you lay out a budget for us though, we'll proceed to help you spend anything you have or will have on knives.

Thanks for your reply, just looking for an everyday carry, that would not be too bulky in the pocket that could be used for multiple jobs, from whittling to cutting weed eater line. Not looking to get too expensive, since I want to use it everyday. Many thanks.

In that case, I definitely stand by my recommendation for a victorinox pioneer. Or any 2 to 3 layer Swiss Army Knife for that matter.

Thanks so much, I will take a look at the one you suggested. As far as the price, I haven’t a clue, haven’t priced any knives in years. Got to get busy shopping.

With all respect, that doesn't give us a clue as to how much you are willing to spend. Set a budget, or be prepared for what we think is reasonable. Also, a size range would be helpful.
I'm not going to wait, though. You want a Southern Grind Spider Monkey

If you buy from USA Made Blade, they'll anodize the liners for you. (At least they used to - can't tell in that picture; but that one has green liners)

Get a CRK inkosi. Buy once cry once. Will take care of anything you ever need it to.

I don't think your recommendation is appropriate, and only distracts from a more serious discussion by inviting a sideshow.

A SAK could potentially last him a lifetime without the need to spend hundreds of dollars on a knife we enthusiasts covet for ourselves.

Thanks so much for your response, I haven’t really set a budget as yet, it’s been years since I have priced any knives. I know, I need to get shopping! 😊😉

What are you talking about? I said nothing inappropriate.

Thanks for another recommendation, I will be sure to check that out as well.

He just stated he hasn't set a budget yet. You can apologize anytime you see fit
