Newb here, and first post!

Ok. That’s going to land you in mostly Chinese made/assembled knives that will still be very capable. SAKs are great but I don’t care for them because I prefer my EDC to have a pocket clip and SAKs are bulking in my opinion. Maybe there are some SAKs with a pocket clip????

Maybe consider any Spyderco models under $100 and you won’t go wrong like the Spyderco Persistence, Endela, Delica

Buck 112 Slim.

Leatherman Free K4X, but it’s bulky

Giant Mouse Ace Iona(premium steel M390, phosphor bronze washers for $100 made in Italy instead of most options under $100 will be made in China) made in China is not necessarily the worst thing but I don’t prefer it.

Spartan Blades Talos

I would strongly discourage you from buying anything Cold Steel or SOG as they now owned by a massive company called GSM.

You can also go to DLT Trading website and select knives and then refine your search by price and they already have $50-$100 as an option.

If you twisted my arm and made me reccomend 1 under $100, any Spyderco!!!!
It’s looking like I may be raising my budget to the $200 and above range, thanks for all of the suggestions!

Skip the pocket knife and get yourself a Leatherman multi-tool. If you are doing yard work or stuff around the house or whatever it will be able to do anything a pocket knife can do and more. I find my Leatherman Supertool is indispensable when doing stuff around the yard. You'll need the wire cutters for weed whacker line. I have found that stuff is very tough on knife blades and isn't as easy to cut as you would think.
I will definitely consider one of those!

Buck 301 or similar fits your parameters.

Also, look at a reputable knife dealer's on sale section. Some excellent options exist because they've dropped the prices.

A 'pocket' fixed blade WITH the right sheath might satisfy your day to day needs.

Welcome aboard! So many good options these days it's hard to give a solid recommendation without knowing more what you like in a knife.

That said, a Victrinox SAK of some varity is always in my pocket along with a larger locking folder and or small to medium fixed blade. The Alox SAK Farmer X and Pioneer X are my two favorite SAKs for my uses

Spyderco has so many choices and are great knives. The Delica on the smaller end and the Manix 2 for a bit larger choice are a couple Spydercos I carry often.

Stepping it up build and cost wise CRK is top notch and will be a hand-me-down for many years if taken care of. I like a small Sebenza for those times I may want a "gents knife" , but lean towards a large Sebenza or Inkosi for a daily user.

After you do some looking post what catches your eye and maybe we can help narrow it down for you better.

Enjoy!

Wonderful information! Thanks so much!

Thanks everyone so far for the warm welcome and all of the wonderful suggestions! I really appreciate everything!

Sadly, I sold off most of my collection some years ago, of course now I regret doing so.

Hi. Which knife out of your past collection do you regret selling years ago?

Maybe that can narrow down the suggestions to better accommodate you.

Also, just throwing this out there, consider a 2-4 inch fixed blade instead of a folding knife. If you don't mind a sheath, a lot of EDC fixed blades have pocket sheaths now.

Here's a picture of a Bradford Guardian 3 inch fixed blade with a pocket clip sheath.

The belt sheath on the right comes with the Guardian. I got the back clip sheath on Amazon for less than $30.

Hope this helps! 👍

U Uncle Lem Surely your head is spinning about now with all of the suggestions. Maybe go to a store and see how they feel in your hand. I think the purchase and the use of a knife is a personal thing. My advice is to buy what looks good to you, what speaks to you, and will make you smile everytime you use it.

After some time, buy another... and then...

Keep an eye out in the marketplace and check out a SHF! If you want a fixed blade, there are several fantastic makers on here that could make something to your specs for a reasonable price.

Not really one in particular, I had over a hundred that I had accumulated over the years. Just regret that I got rid of them now. Thanks so much for the suggestions.

That’s exactly what I need to do, go shopping! Thanks!

Welcome. I prefer adding a suspension clip to Alox (or any) SAK that's being pocket carried. Not a big add to the budget.

My pops has carried nothing more than a SAK Huntsman as far back as I can remember. I asked him what he wanted for his birthday last year, he said a new Huntsman 😂. I got him one that said Pawpaw on the scale since that's what all the grandkids call him.

First of all, Welcome! The Spyderco Delica is what jump started my EDC collection. It's not too big or small. It's just right to me. I have hundreds of knives now, yet I'll still grab a Delica if I'm rushing out the door & don't have time to decide. They come in more variations than you could imagine too.
