Newt Livesay internet ordering

I'm gonna bump this back up to try to get a response on a few ?'s of my own.

ARE there any other people who sell his sticks? I've emailed him regarding a 30" WA-1, a 36" WA-1 and a Grey Ghost. Almost 2 weeks and no response. I, also, have experienced the PayPal "This recipient is currently unable to receive money."

It makes me a little wary, what, with all the horror stories, but for the most part, they seem to be knife related, not stick.

If there is no other sources, does anybody know Newt personally or know where he lives? I'd REALLY like a couple of the sticks. Maybe somebody who know him could get a supply of sticks and sell them?? Just a thought

As Cougar mentioned, try a feed/livestock supply. Or google "sorting pole hog" and you'll find the same stuff he sells.

I discovered Livesay knives through this forum.

Most reports I read said that they were great knives at a great price etc...

I surfed his site and liked what I saw.

I then tried over several weeks to contact him to ask about postage to my country (UK) (Alarm bells should have rung)

Eventually I got a very plesant email back from him explaining that he "had his back to the wall" attempting to fill orders hence the delay in replying etc.

So back on the 24th March I placed my order for a "woo" and a "bugger"

My card was imediately debited for the amount and I recieved by post in a few days the invoice/ receipt.

As of today still no knives. :grumpy: (10 weeks later)

I have sent a couple of emails.............. No reply.

I find it rather sad that someone is quite happy to debit my card so quickly and can even send by post to the Uk the invoice, but then cannot reply to my emails and cannot send my knives.

After all if he can send the invoice, why not send the knives!!!!

I am still at the moment giving him the benefit of the doubt that eventually I will get my knives and hear back from him...

But at the moment it's not looking good.

I mean why the hell doesn't he hire a couple of local lads to handle his orders and take the strain off himself ??? surely any successful business has to expand.

I want to thank all of my loyal and devoted customers and friends that have stood by me over the last couple of years. I know that I am behind on orders and some or outstanding and way overdue.

There are a number of reasons for this, and I will take all the blame up front. Worrying and stress about these issues have caused me some massive health problem as well as irreconcilable problems in my private life.

Effective this date I am informing any one who has a PAID order that I will get your order out to you. I will only be selling product that I have in stock or stock that I might generate during the process of filling back orders. I will not be taking any more custom orders or orders for anything that is not in a scheduled product. I am for all intents and purposes going out of business. Like I said I will sell product, if and as it becomes available during the normal process of filling all paid backorders. I will fill all paid orders be it a knife, stick or any of the other items that I manufacture.

Once all back orders are completed, I will close out my business. I am in the process of talking to someone that wants to pick up my name and line of products. I do not know how this will work out, but if this transaction is completed I will repay any debts left over at that time.

I appreciate those who have stood by me, and supported me in word and deed.

Best regards;

Newt Livesay

Could you please post a link to that post? I ordered and paid for a knife quite some time ago from Newt Livesay (over a year). He will not return my numerous emails and his phone has been disconnected.

I used to be able to access his forum, but now can not.

I have read of many other people being swindled by Newt Livesay, he takes people's money, tells them he has their knife and then never sends it.

I have read so many of his health problem, shop broken into, alien abduction stories that it has become laughable.

I would guess anyone that sent Newt Livesay money for a knife will never see either.

for the most part probably correct sir.

I love the post where Newt's daughter bitches about Chad234 reminding them about his 60 pre-paid, never-received knives. It's like Chad234 should be more patient about his thousands of dollars floating in limbo forever.

You have made your point.......over and over and over again. We all understand and got it!

Please email to me a list of the items that you are owed in detail to addressremovedbyTorz@yahoo.com

Thank you,

Newt's daughter

At least it sounds like she's interested in fixing the problem though.

It's too bad.

Newt seemed like a nice guy who produced a good product for a reasonable price. He has tried repeatedly to get caught up and smooth out operations. Unfortunately, his continuing problems seemed to have finally just overwhelmed him. Although the result is the same, I see this as different from those who are out to scam someone from the get-go (I'm sure the members here can suggest some names).

Could somebody post that again? I have obsessive compulsive disorder, and only seeing it posted 3 times is driving me crazy.

I guess that answers my questions as to why I never rec'd my Becker BM7 back w/custom kydex. Actually, just sending the knife back itself would be enough at this point in time as replies like "It's in the bin ready to ship." has grown pretty lame after over a YEAR of waiting and pretty sure my CC was billed way back then. It is not even a money issue of 30-40 bucks, I just want my damned knife back! I don't think that is too much to ask from ANY company and at this point, redundant apologies are pretty moot.

Well It seems the Livesay website has dissappeared.
This can only be good in that it will stop more poor people throwing their money in to the wind.
I have sent another two (completely ignored) emails since my last post *Sigh*
:grumpy:

I only hope one day I get my Knives or my Money back..........

Have you tried emailing his daughter? I know a few people that atleast got an answer that way.

I'm one of men who do not come from him the report.

> Have you tried emailing his daughter?

Please tell it to me if you know it.

I ordered a few small products from Newt about 2 months ago, and received them from an address in Nevada, or Arizona about 2 weeks later. It worked out good for me.

you are one of the few sir. BUT now that in hand, consider yourself lucky and ENJOY them! :D

If taking money for orders up front was causing health problems you would think he would have stopped doing it before his health got so bad.

In business, you can scew some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time. The small have learned from the large. that those are good odds. Global Crossing, Enron , Tyco and of the cottage group some knife people. Most are OK but small fish get attitude when confronted. They are to small to go after and they know it. Do not send money unless you really know the maker well, do not send money unless you know the maker really well ! To all those who work hard and turn out a good product, good on ya ! Listen to your customers, they pay the bills, and most are educated and can afford what you can not, one of your high end knives. Best knife maker with great customer service, J and Tess Neilson. I speak for myself and no others.Tao Goo is also tops but he is a mutifaceted Metal Smith.

Be well

the good folks in this business outnumber the bad by about 500 to 1 imho, most of them will go above and beyond for the consumer, and would sooner jump off a cliff than rip someone off. lots of them arent even in it for the money its a hobby. usually none of them require nor accept prepayment for a custom order unless its a deposit for unusual, unique or expensive materials to use on construction of, ie devin thomas damscus, talonite, ivory, etc. they dont require a deposit to make something, and if a maker starts inquiring about 1 i politely decline and go elsewhere.
