Next GEC "surprise"?

It’s only about $60 more than the rosewood.
“Doctor, how will I know my knife buying habit has gotten out of hand?”
“When a 50% price increase due to branding changes seems like it’s not a big deal.”

I love GEC’s product, but much like what I can spend on my next car, I have limits. It’s like Toyota makes a Camery and puts a ”Duesenberg” emblem on it and the price goes up 50%.

I don’t mean to discuss pricing, except to the ends that the knife has substantially remained the same. A quality knife, no doubt, probably just as good as my other GEC’s, but this experiment is finally demonstrating the limits of what the product will command. I’m not surprised they sit on the shelves.

Edit- I’m pretty sure it’ll be fixed blades next then 86’s shortly after

I'm not saying the price is completely put of line, just that that's why its sitting on the shelf longer, which personally of they wanted to raise the price a little and not have them sell out instantly I'm more than fine with it.

I'm still hoping for a #15 Boys Knife or Barlow in Orange or Black Delrin... Some day maybe, I think it fits the patterns perfectly.
Oh ya, and I'm still waiting for the #76 Stockman... I'd pay a big markup for that one.

That would be fun. When I first got into GEC, around 2015, there were a bunch of those sitting around on dealers shelves. There we’re a couple I really liked, but they took a back seat to other available GEC’s at the time, and I never ended up with one.
Same. Wish I would have grabbed one. At the time I was just entering the traditions knife rabbit hole, there were too many other shiny objects that kept distracting me. Also kick myself for passing on that pickle green improved trapper that sat on shelves for weeks. Alas.

Posted it in the "what are you carrying today" thread, but thought I would drop it here as I would also love to see more Ben Hogans!

GEC and their dealers will fall upon lean times if they don’t get back to smaller runs and more varied trim.

2600 knives in 6-8 different covers would already be gone. 2600 of the same knife isn’t interesting to collectors.

Is 2600 the confirmed run size on the Remington? I hadn't heard what it was.

I have an Ebony Ben Hogan 651112 Lockback even (1 of 25)
What I missed out on and would like to see GEC run especially if they do another Ben Hogan, is another Ebony French Kate Lady Leg
I'd love to have the Ebony FK Lady Leg to accompany my Ben ... but regardless of how I come about the Kate, she would likely cost (at least) twice what I paid for Ben, back in the day

One of my favorite GEC releases

I have a French Kate and want a Ben Hogan. Wish I have picked one up when they were around. I would also like the 76 & 79.

Still waiting on the bocote 73's but I wouldn't mind a surprise new pattern # sowbelly. If they are going to bring back an older pattern that hasn't been made for awhile, I'd like to see some #16's again.
