I imagine you could get a lot of skinners out of the kukri āwasteāā¦??
Yeah donāt Kukriās traditionally come with a couple of small knives?
Yup. A "karda" and often a steel.Yeah donāt Kukriās traditionally come with a couple of small knives?![]()
But the Kukri has never been made. So it takes precedence over remakes. Please change your vote.Isnāt the skinner the oldest on the list? My opinion is it should be remade first. (You know what they say about opinions)
Buzzkill..Having just had the chance to seeNon.Nisi.Te ās skinner, Iām going to offer some thoughts, unsolicited and Iāll wager wholly unappreciated.
Itās a cute little knife. The danger is in assuming the simple look means itās simple to make.
It isnāt.
At least, not the way Nate and crew do it.
For that knife to be done properly, it needs to be hand ground. In that shop, anyway. Itās not like the side project that the original skinners were, as AIM at that time was a machine shop, doing real work, and the knife stuff was a side gig.
This is me talking out my ass, but my ass is pretty well educated by knifemaker ass standards, and Iāll wager that a reasonable price for something akin to the original skinner should be in the $700 range, given todayās market.
Now, having dropped this stinking turd right here, Iāll leave you to talk amongst yourselves.
