Next to bed knife?

Usually whatever I was EDCing, but that's because one of my pocket dumps happens to be next to my bed. If I get up to check on something, I generally take a tomahawk with me, or a cut down shovel handle.
 
I usually keep something sharp and pointy at hand, but it rotates. For some reason the HI Kukri is always close by. :) Mag light is the "go look for the noise in the night" tool though.
 
I keep my Manix Moonglow on the nightstand. The damn thing glows the entire night and I figure it'll be easy to spot if I need it.
 
I sleep in TAD Gear Force 10 cargo pants and have a DDC SnG CC clipped in the slit of the cargo pocket.
 
Glock 30, BRKT Aurora in the night stand, better to have them and not need them, than need them and not have them.
 
Razor sharp, discontinued 12 inch ColdSteel bowie machete with the nasty clip point. Under the bed at arms reach.
 
Used to keep a CS peace keeper in the pistol safe next to the bed. Ditched it when I changed that safe out. Of things I have I think I would keep the CS katana machete close, not great but I wouldn't want to face it.

I much prefer things that go bang for home defense (or any defense).
 
The knife I EDC'd before the current one. :D There's another more permanent one in the drawer, that's been a standard Military for quite some time now.
 
I don't keep knives or guns next to me while I sleep. Ever heard the story of a guy who was sleeping and his phone rang; half asleep he picked up his gun instead of his phone and blew his own head off.
 
Keep a BM Nimcub close by. But as someone posted above, I prefer something that goes bang for defense..

My whole collection is in my bedroom! None of which are really intended for self defense; just where I happen to keep all my knives and swords.
 
I put the final edge on whatever knife that I've been sharpening while watching TV in bed, so here's always something reasonably sharp nearby, but it varies. Currently, it's a couple of Ontarios, the SP-10 and the Freedom Fighter 8 in Bowie.

never heard of that but if the guy cant differentiate a button/trigger I think there is something really wrong with him
 
No, Glock 22 on my side of the bed, S&W M&P .40 on hers, Remington 870 in the closet, a German Shepherd and Golden Retriever in the room, and an alarm system...if I need a blade at that point we're in deep kimchee ;)
 
My by-the-bed knife?...A (large) Smith & Wesson HRT fixed blade.
