about 2 weeks ago here, a 70 year old man with his son n law got arrested for the making of xtc/meth.

Darn. I was hoping that on page 2 of this thread that I wouldn't have to see that poor dog again. I can barely look at the picture. What kind of animal could do something like this? Geesh! :mad:
 
He's fine now. That one eye droops some where they stitched it together.

That happened to him like 2 years ago and we just adopted him in Aug.

His previous owner also gave us a pup that guards our goats Pete. Pete is gonna be bigger then Tucker who is 111 lbs.:thumbup:

He's not all sweetness and light though. He will try to climb in your lap to steal your food. Ms HD has cookies under her arm and he wants them. You can see the scar on his lip in the one pic.

One way I'd put it: If somebody tortured my dog and I knew without doubt who did it, I'd NEVER, EVER tell anyone what they did.

And, I'd NEVER, EVER tell anyone what I did to them in response...

I'm just glad he found his way into such a loving home as yours. Dogs need to be with people who have a love of the outdoors !:thumbup:

The thing about BigDog AKA Tucker is he is the true pyr in that unless he wants to he doesn't hear a damn thing you say:D

So we are on this hike last Sunday and the path comes near a road. Well he takes up the road and I'm yelling at him to come back and of course he's oblivious and then he sees me and comes trotting back down so I hike back up the hill, then wait.......

Finally I go back to the road. No Tucker. So it's a dirt road but luckily some folks drive by and I ask if they saw him. "No" So they head on down the road and I hear them honk. Meaning he was down there. So I walk about a half mile down the road and finally catch sight of him happily trotting down the road and start yelling for him. No luck. Finally I run after him and when I get about 25 yards away he FINALLY slows down.

So I collar him. I don't have a leash so I attach the hand loop of my hiking staff to his collar and back up the road about a mile uphill we go till we hook up with my wife and friend.;)

Once I had him on the path for about 25 yards I let him go and he stays right with us:thumbup:

Perhaps it's time for a Wilderness forum GTG in your neck. We could then help you slap the sh*t out of these scumbags while we're down there, and move 'em out. You can't make people change, but you CAN make them WANT TO change. The Art of Persuasion can take many forms.:cool:

They found this guy passed out on the road in the southern part of the county and turned out he was over come by some ammonia he was stealing for a meth lab.

A funny story: I got one of those nice K&M Match safes with the compass:thumbup: So I try to find some strike anywhere matches for it and I'm going from store to store and nobody has them and they are all looking funny at me.

I tell my wife this and she said she had some class about it and they use the tips of the matches somehow in the process so no stores around here have them. They probably all thought I was a clandestine chemist:o Finally a friend on KF sent me some but I guess it's such a problem here the stores don't even stock those matches:confused:

The main problem I have noticed with the drug is 1 it causes a lot of domestic fighting. 2 it makes people stay up really late and play loud music:rolleyes: In fact the way my neighbor got popped was he got into a fight with his wife, she called the man and said he had a gun and he was a convicted felon for attempted murder and so the police searched his place. No gun but they found a lot of meth making stuff so he went to jail:thumbup:

That's actually how I got my one big Pyrenees dog. He showed up all cut up after some people tortured him to send a message to his owner. We treated him and then later after his owner had him back she had to move and gave him to us.

I have had Great Pyrenees all my life and they are the best dogs I have had, loyal, strong, kind, and intimidating to those that dont know them. That picture really pisses me off that someone would do that to a dog, its just sick!

I know im late to party here... But seeing that pic of a dog i had to walk away and every time i wanted to write something i had to walk away again.. IM PISSED i can actualy feel my blood pressure go up im so pissed. But im sure all of you feel exactly same as i do... I just cant calm down thinking about it.... HD i dont think the old dogs lose there hearing its more that they are old enough to know they can get away with it. You would love them no matter what as soon as they give you that look. Trust me he more then appricait what you did for him. Unlike most people out there.
Im going on a hike tonight after work. Here is about 70deg in the evening sunny with not a cloud in the sky.
I wish we all could, get togher for that camp fire.... I would bring the metal rods for branding and duct tape..

If it was my neighbor he's in prison in OK now. For a long time.:thumbup:

Also he has no trailer to come back to now either
