Nick Wheeler Prototype Fighter. "Oh YEA "......

I was trying to type something witty, but find myself drooling incoherently after viewing the pictures. Plus, my head keeps banging to the "Let the bodies hit the floor!"

Spot on. I was positive I was going for wood, but I have to say that it looks pretty crisp with that black micarta.

Roger
That's me. I love the grain of good Micarta, and this has it.

It has a lot of curves that need showing. I'll be working hard to do this. Joe is having Nick send me this one, then I slingshot it to Pauly.

Great thread guys!

Thanks jim I believe this one is on its way to u today

Thanks folks I am going o keep this thread going showing bits and pieces of completeing the series

Some will have wood some different G 10 / Micarta hell I don't know the difference :)

All will be bad ass and I will post up Coops pic when done and of course Pappy's bad ass sheath's thats right sheaths there will be 2 one scout one sash.

thanks so much everyone and BTW there is I believe one slot left :)

Thanks guys! :)

Joe, I told Angi as soon as I started uploading the video that I knew what song I wanted to add to it. :D (it was just a funny/cool coincidence that the video ends right after the lyrics "this is the end..." ;) :D You're spot on about Angi--- she keeps me going in a straight line. I've always had the energy of the train, just not any tracks to make use of it. :)  :)

I should point out just so we're all on the same page, the handle material on Joe's prototype is black G10 from Alpha Knife Supply. The green and natural materials I have are actually canvas micarta, so they will look a little different (all nearly bullet proof materials).

Normally I'm a wood or ivory guy on my bigger stuff.... I've used a LOT of synthetics on hunters before... but I LOVE the synthetics on this beast. It just seems right. :)

But if somebody wants to send me wood for one, they can send it to

Wheeler

Thanks again everyone! :)

Good stuff guys. I will likely wait on Coop's pic to make the final call on mine, but will get a piece of wood to Nick just in case. If one of the early knives is going to be canvas micarta, I'd be interested to see how that looks as well. I like the way it looked on Danbo's Russ Andrews fighter he posted up not too long ago. And I get Nick's point about synthetics seeming to "fit" this piece.

I'l be keen to see the sheath options that my man Pappy comes up with as well - no doubt he'll be doing one for mine.

Great project, Joe. Awesome knives, Nick. Great motivating, Angie. :)

I hope someone grabs that last spot quick - 'cause I'm having visions of a matched duelling pair...

Roger

Roger u ain't kidding I am thinking one to use and one to stash

On handle materials when Jason and I did the Foundeers Bowie series there is always some extra blades so if in inclusions pop up or other problems arise there is a back up

You might all remember the Micarta Founders Jason made for me as a user. It had some inclusions that where barely noticable but could not make it in the # series so he slapped micarta on it and it became my user

Point is on a real use knife synthetics are king they dont crack and to me don't hurt the eye. I have already smacked the handle on the Micarta Founders by accident and it was fine if it where wood I would have damaged it

So in some situations and for some knives I do believe synthetics a viable option

To each his own thats why there are options :)

I remember that Micarta Founders well Joe - it's beyond great that you have one to beat on and one to keep pristine.

Roger

Joe, it's "you could really gig a mutha with that one!"

:D

Roger, the handle material on the Andrews fighter is Bone Linen Micarta from Masecraft(I think).

BTW, Nick. I don't see ANYTHING about this knife that I don't like(well, except that it's going to Joe, instead of me). Ya done good, Bro!(as usual). :)

Unbelievable... When I first met Nick, oh so long ago, I ordered a knife from him with a primary request for a spectacular hamon.... I don't know how many blades he went through before he came up with something he thought was acceptable. And now, he whines because he is getting crazy hamons without trying!!!

Nick, and Joe, these knives are some of the best in this style I've seen! Only complaint here is I don't think I'll have the opportunity to coon finger one! :o

So, Nick..........how fine of a polish did you put on the rolling pin that Angi threatens you with when you get distracted?:D

Well folks all ten slots are filled and I want to thank you all

Please stay tuned there will be coops pics in a few days then the two sheaths that Paul is doing

Plus we will be posting up pics of the series being completed

I am just so pleased thanks so much everyone and guys that are getting these you are gonna be happy :)
