No collection is complete without a...

Why, unless the person is spamming?
It's a rule of BFC set forth by Spark. We do not allow active EBay links so why should we allow BladeAuction links? No difference. They are allowed for discussion purposes of a particular knife but instead of just posting a pic he chose to post a link to the whole auction. Not a very good idea considering it was/is difficult to determine if he was/is the seller.

I'm gonna go in a different direction here...

I think every collection needs at least one knife with a personal connection: the heavily-used beater that belonged to your father/grandfather/uncle; or the one your parents gave you on your tenth birthday because you were all grown up now; or the first knife that you bought with your lawn-mowing money; or the one that saved your life; or.... you get the idea.

That's the sort of knife that means something. The rest are just shiny objects; heck, ya might as well just collect Hummels!

I have to agree with Gryffin. Something that one has an emotional attachment to. In my case, I have a Buck 110 that was given to me by my mother-in-law, after my father-in-law passed away. Apparently it was a gift to him sometime in the 70's. I have never used it, but it sits safely in the "knife drawer" of one of cabinets in the house. It could be he never used
it, either, but I'll never part with it...

...I never got any knives from my Grandfather or Dad, but I do have my Grandfather's knife steel, must date back to about WW I I bet; I still use it!

Although I would recommend a MT Ultratech as long as you're adding knives, my favorite is a Chris Reeve one-piece fixed blade in 3V. (Nkonka)

The edge is polished to a near-mirror finish and it is scary sharp. (can't see the bright edge in the picture below).

So I'd have to say a really good quality fixed blade in your favorite flavor.

From back when Gerber made knives.....
MK1 and MK2 Survival.
Original Loveless Guardian.
A Buck Knife (124)
Cold Steel Tanto.
A Custom which you made to much for.......

A nice three blade stockman. Don't ask me why, I just open the mail with mine, but it gives me a lot of pleasure.

No knife collection is ever complete. But if you live in the U.S. and you don't have at least one Bowie, you're missing out. I suppose someone's collection could be limited to folders (I don't know why, but it could), in that case you'd have to have a stockman slipjoint.

Hmmm... Looks like the folks from the Schrade forum don't make it up to the Blade Discussion Forum.

that one knife that has traveled thousands of miles in your pocket, and has been cleaned and resharpened more times than you can remember.
