No communication from JJB Knives!!

Thanks for the advice, if I don't hear anything by Wednesday, I'll get in contact with them.

-Brian

Your 2 day option was probably Priority Mail, which is a sort of First Class Plus. It generally does get there within 2 days, but ... it's not guaranteed to arrive within the time frame, like Express Mail.

Anyway, don't panic yet, it isn't that long, and as others have said, the mail can be slow and email can be down also.

You sent your half of the deal by US Mail so if the deal is a scam, go to www.usps.com and look for Postal Inspectors. Tell them your story and let them take it from there.

Just fyi, I've had Priority Mail from Huntsville AL to St Louis MO take 13 days! The USPS could only tell me that the package was scanned as it went onto a truck in Alabama and never scanned again. It just showed up one day. Go figure.

Regarding email access, on normal days I'm checking email and BFC several times per day. (No life, right?) On other days and especially weekends, incommunicado from Friday midday thru Sunday is pretty normal.

I can appreciate the value of your trades making you anxious but I do think you are being waaaaay premature. Have a beer - no more caffeine - and wait 'til Tuesday night before you begin to become concerned. A little excitement and anxiety is okay but I would be pretty P.O.ed if I were JJB, had sent the package out Priority Mail and then went camping for the weekend, only to return and find I had been raked over the coals in TGB&U.

Best of luck!

Alright, I'm still willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, and appreciate your advice Paddlingman. I hadn't turned the situation around like that to see how I would have felt. I still think that a tracking number and some sort of "I got your package - thanks" was in order - would have made me feel better and would have avoided this whole thing, but as long as I'm waiting, I might as well, not be really mean about it - it was the end of a long hard week. I've edited the title of this thread to more accurately describe my complaint (poor communication) and if this all ends happily promise to humbly apologize.

Wow... I hate to hear that. Maybe your gut feeling was right. Here's hoping it works out.

Best of luck, Brian.

It's still only been a week, but right about now I'd be starting to get a bit worried. By the beginning of next week I'd be suffering from anxiety.

If this guy has not returned one email since the trade I would also be assuming the worst.

I made two runs by the house late this afternoon and this evening and no one was home.

No problem.

With you not hearing from jjb knives and the results today, I hope all is well with him and his family.

That's another possibility that I hadn't considered. I too hope that nothing bad has happened to them. On the chance that something has happened, I can give them some more time before trying something else...

Oh well, off to send another email!

-Brian

I still hope that this all works out, for all I know, I could get a package in the mail tomorrow and I'd be thrilled. But if anyone happens to see any of these knives for trade/sale (here) (plus a little flame anodized credit card sized titanium knife) before this gets cleared up, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Most likely it would be emailed to you as a trade possibility.

-Brian

Hopefully nothing has happened to them.

It really sucks in general though to do a trade and the other party stops communicating altogether.

As it sounds, there is a strong possibility you got ripped off...hope you recover something.
