No more 17?

Having a hard time resisting picking up a 17 before they are gone.... Love my 16 but that 17 looks good too. Maybe I just need another 16.
 
This came Saturday.
Preloved... It was only stripped, doesn't appear used at all. I cleaned up around the scales as only the blade was stripped but a little sloppy so I tightened it up with a razor blade.



Best of all though is the sheath. I really really love this style and the weight, texture, color, everything about it.
It came with stock scales and spacers but I didn't care for them so I swapped my micarta. Wet formed the sheath back down to size and it took it perfectly. Automatically my favorite sheath.
 
sad to see it discontinued... That was my first Becker (about a day before my BK2 came in) and contributed heavily to my addiction. Fortunately I was able to grab one more as a spare before they're gone - can't wait for that mail call!
 
Money is tight right now so I guess ill miss out on this one.

This is only one of two beckers I've never owned. but I've never really had a desire to own it.

The 16 just gets all the love, I never use my 15. And (if I'm correct) the 16 is the only tweener Ethan really deigned.

Overall I'm mostly ok with whats been removed from the line I guess. I would keep the 4 and 5 if they when back to the old original deigns.

If I could pick the line up it would be bk3, bk4 fixed, bk5 fixed, bk6, bk9, bk10, bk11, bk16, bk20, and bk21.

So no bk2, bk7, bk13, bk14, bk15, bk17, bk23. Of couse a lot of these knives sell like crazy for kabar...

But that just one mans opinion.
 
That is a great thread idea! But it's been said enough that our suggestions will never matter. KaBar does it there way just look at the wonderful scale colors. I know if I was in the knife business suggestions from here would matter a lot. Go for it !🤓

No. I just got 2 of them. I wanted to play with one and have one on the shelf.
 
Does anyone know where 17s can still be purchased for a decent price? I checked around on the web a bit and didn't find any. I'm looking for new in the box. If anyone knows a dealer that can't be posted in this thread, please feel free to PM or email me the info. Makes me mad I didn't pick up a 17 years ago......

Edit: Help no longer needed. Someone kindly pointed me in the right direction and I have a NIB BK17 on the way!
