No more barkriver for me

This is exactly what I warned people about on the original thread. Discussing Mike Stewart was the point of the exercise. Discussing each other is not. We have infractions for insulting other members and for trolling and depending on the specific comments made, these can be applied.

There is also a fine line which I know many people do not understand, in attacking a moderator who is participating in a discussion. Attacking his objectivity as a moderator could earn a serious "sassing the mods" infraction. This is not a way for moderators to win an argument. It is a way for Bladeforums to reserve its right to maintain an acceptable level of discourse.

If you don't like the way a moderator is expressing himself, take it to the Service & Support forum. Don't get into a shouting match in a discussion forum.

What nonsense I have both Bark River and Mike Stewart's knives and they are great. They have quality written all over them. I really don't think a stainless such as AUS6A would be a very good counterfiet of a non-stainless carbon steel and anyone who ups the money for a Bark River is usually going to be a knife nut.

A knife nut would not be fooled for long and their would be an outcry such as happened when CRKT switched from AUS8A and AUS6A to the super cheap AUS4A all of these are stainless but it didn't take long to be discovered.

I told people they could say what they wanted to about Mike Stewart, but that saying similar things about each other was violating Bladeforums rules: we aren't supposed to insult each other in a discussion.

So someone accused me of being on Mike's side.

Think.

Thinking.

Always advisable, never easy.

If it matters, I did get your point. Insulting folks is a bad idea ...

Wrong. Out and out wrong. You know nothing other than what one side fed you. That thread had nothing to do with his refund of his cash. I cannot elaborate but trust me, you are very, very wrong.

To all of the posters saying they have inside information... let's hear it. Seriously, if I am wrong about Mike Stewart (that he is a total POS that writes charming PMs that cater to the small minded), then please educate me. Just don't spoon feed me this crap about inside information.

Of course, I fully suspect that your "inside information" is direct from the man of the hour - Mr. Mike Stewart. Yes, those PMs are still working their charms.

Opinions are just that .....opinions!!:D

Right opinions and wrong opinions are based on who thinks they are right and who thinks they are wrong, and WHY.

If you do not qualify an opinion with fact you can never convince anyone that your opinion is the right one.

Actually I am not banned from any of those boards. Especially KF, wtf? I stopped posting there before MS bought the place. ...
Assuming this is not a clever way of saying you never belonged to KF - and I don;t think it is, please PM me. I'd like to know the basis of the information that Mike Stewart "bought the place." There has been an earlier express claim that he owns KF. Thank you.

And if we deleted all opinions that were presented without facts, we'd probably have about 2 pages left on the original thread. :D

And who is ever convinced by someone else's opinion around here anyway? Doesn't happen often, but that should not stop people from drawing their own lines in the sand, and it should not deter others from joining them.

Opinions contrary to yours, with or without "facts", are just as welcome here as yours are.

On the original thread, however, only one set of opinions were welcomed by the folks riding the bandwagon. The others were consistently and often vulgarly disparaged.

Ken, I know you have some sort of inside information, but unless you share it you do seem like you are indeed being biased in your opinion of the matter.
Why the secrecy?

There were several people, including some very popular knifemakers, who claimed on these very forums to have 'inside information' that proved that some other knifemakers, accused of being posers, were the real deal. They never did end up providing that info.;)

Sir, is that your opinion?:D;)

If you do answer; "just the facts Mr., just the facts"!!:p;)

Just the facts? What is this, a courtroom or an internet forum? Unsubstantiated opinions on both sides abound in the original thread. Only one side generally finds a courteous reception.

Would you like me to tell you all what really happened? If I knew, I wouldn't say.

FYI: I used to work at KFC, they ad wuxtry grease to their biscuits to make 'em more lovable. That's the secret, grease.

Recipe sent.

Guyon, would you mind emailing me the recipe also? My room mate made some biscuts over the weekend that were pretty good but I'm sure we'd love to try yours also. :)
