No More Jaxurman Goods!

I am the guy!!!! I own the collection of sub $200 production knives. COPFISH put me into my first Custom in May of 2001, and I "backed out" of THREE DEALS with Jack.

I then started a thread about "knives as an investment" (meaning: knives like shares of Microsoft, Etc.) I then engaged in ANOTHER "Is Jack a DEALER" thread here or in W&C. I NEVER insulted Jack, but man did he hand me my arse for being a "NEWBIE" and "LOW-RENT" collector.

Now, in about 15 minutes I leave to go under the knife (there is my knife content) so I COULD just write something inflammatory, derrogatory, and plain nasty because by the time I return to BFC this will all be "old news" and another DRAMA will have unfolded on the "Greatest show on Earth" BLADE FORUMS, but I won't go there. Bullsh*t

Jack, you have so much to offer. There is No question about your Honesty and Integrity. I would not hesitate to send you a $5,000 Cashier's check for a knife (eventhough you are so freaking cheap you won't spring for a digital camera!!!!) IF I had the $5,000 to spend on a knife. I do NOT, doubt I EVER will, so that's settled.

You drive BMW's, have a walk-in Safe, and buy 'Vanguards' by the DOZEN from Les. I drove a BMW (once), I have a safe I walk into and it freakin hurts:eek: and I buy RIGHTGUARD from Joe at Rite-aid.

You know so much about the world of knives and can offer so much to BFC and it's membership that it amazes me that you are NOT helping out BRL when it comes to identifying old stock. I bet most of the photos we post, you know EXACTLY what the knife is, but if it aint for sale/trade you let the post sit UNANSWERED.

If someone offers up CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, it's disrespectful. If you offer a disresptful remark it's "acceptable" because you are the "GOLDEN GOOSE" of Blade Forums. Jack, you DO have the knives I WANT, but will NEVER be able to afford. You also are an HONEST person in every one of your knife dealings. But your "EGO" buddy really SUKS. I truly would enjoy buying you a beer in Atlanta in June and talk knives with you, as you are a walking KNIFE ENCYLOPEDIA. But as far as having ANY respect for you, Just type "jaxurman" in the search function, grab some of Keith's popcorn and READ. While I doubt it will sink in,you are gonna see that all you do here is DEAL. You could leave that "EGO" at the door and be one of the most PRODUCTIVE members of BF instead of using BF to be your MOST PRODUCTIVE investment "asset". But is there any "MONEY" in it?

I will have no recollection of this post Jack, so please remind me to read this when my brain clears of Opiates. But FWIW, listen to Mel, KWM, and a "few" others. Let some HOT air outta ya head, be part of the knife world, not just the knife-exchange, and stop putting a value on people based on HOW MUCH THEY SPEND..........Ira
 
because the thread snowballed i have nothing but thanx and praise for tghose with something nice to say ryan , iwas a bit surprised at you for starting this thread you and i have done a few deals and you were happy indeed so whats your bitch ??? cause i have more positive feedback than anyone ??? am i obsessed with that you bet especially when i first come on board and people question my ethics and integrity dont get pissed at me get piussed at the usual suspect who had diarea of the mouth spewing his bullshit and lies my deals with whatever i have sold be it cars guns watches knives whatever have always been the same with honor and dignity i give respect in my deals and get it back yes ryan , i am baffled as to why you felt it necessary to create this thread but it did some good exposing melvin purvis showing his "true colors" showing him as he is saying one thing then saying another first praising me as a good guy who helped others including himself by his own admission 6x then when i reminded him of this he turns on me again i expected this much from someone like himself another keyboard commando :p JAXURMAN

I try to keep all my fighting done in the studio ... not on here. Mostly just a waist of breath. I guess next time I will just ask the person in question via private e-mail or phone call. I really only wanted to make GB&U a little more tidy and fair.

Like I said ... no slight on you from the get go.

As for the age old question if you are dealer ... I could care less as long as you sell us knives under wholesale. :D

And yes ... we need to get you a scanner or dig cam right quick!

but I keep reading alot of negative feedback/static on "newbie collectors" and "customites" (no bad blood intended) who did what to whom/for whom/inspite of/said they would/didnt follow thru....whatever..

As I so often point out; Ive learned ALOT from you all; and after this mornings reading I can say I still am. Im learning what not to do.

i know as thru your own admission you are higher than a kite on opiates so when you come down i will acceopt your apology i give respect to the guy who buys a 25.00 spyderco or a 5k maddog price matters not just as long as they follow thru on what they say you ira by your own admission did this 3x - you backed out those that remember know i tried to referee and help both mike aos and underdog in the great mayo hawkbill legal issue mike aos at first praised me the villified me why ?? cause i told him what he did was wrong posting uop underdog as bad in the gbu i had did probably 10 trades with jerry none easy but he like me is an honorable guy so we made them work out seems here everyones bitch is that i dont contribute guess what i do it in my own way guess what i am one of the good guys here so stop trying to find fault with me stop reaching my deals are flawless as is my rep look at yourself in the mirror and stop pointing fingers ;) JAXURMAN
 
THING both spark and les robertson as well as many others have discussed I AM NOT A DEALER !!!!so let that one alone if you meant no offense on this thread you started than that works for me we dealt well in the past no reason we wont do it in the future i tried working with native before the vegas show on trading for a digital camera i just have not bought one as i would rather buy knives :D so if you or anyone has a nice reasonable digital camera for trade i am, game you would become a hero on bladforum ;) i had fun and laughed as well at the roast but when people make negative comments about me or attack my charachter then its on !!!i will defend myself against these attacks to which there is no reason or basis for ;) JAXURMAN
 
Wolfman, you nailed it. Great post, even if you did use the dreaded "bold and italics" :D

Either Jax does not get the point, or he chooses not to. I suppose everybody could talk until they are blue in the face, and the true message would never sink in. Probably not Jax's fault, some people are just like that, much the same as a dog acts like a dog just because, well, its a dog. Jax seems like that, he acts like that because he does not know any better, or simply sees himself as superior to everybody else.

It has been stated above that he has so much to offer, if only he would. It would seem that other than the fact he has lots of nice knives, he really does not have much to offer.

Jax does not seem to think that basic members are the equal of gold members. Well, there are a few basic members here who do offer tons of advice and guidence and even though they are "basic" they are a real asset to the community.

Jax likes to equate his "worth" by how much he spends at the post office, and how many people post nice things about him (many of those comments at his request, tacky tacky).

Simply having an extensive collection and trading does not make one an asset. Helping and guiding people when you can (even when there is no "money" to be made) is what its all about.

I think Jax brings a lot to the table, with time he will learn to enjoy not just sharing the selling side, but also his knowledge side too.

If I came here 3 years ago with $100,000+ worth of knives to sell or trade for the first time online ... oh brother! This place takes more then 9 months to figure out.

In the mean time, no more solicited good posts, we all know Jax is on his way to Bladeforum Sainthood. :D

You know, it would be cool if he started contributing knowledge to the forum. Somebody mentioned above that he might be able to help ID knives in BRL's section.

I would think that having that many knives would require some knowledge, and sharing that when possible is one concrete way of helping and guiding.

I hope somebody does hook up with you to sell you or trade you for a digi cam as you no doubt have some real interesting knives that people would like to see.

Nice to see the "no more solicited good posts". I dont think anyone here has questioned your honesty besides the ones you mentioned when you first came here. You deal honestly and with integrity, trust me your reputation will speak for itself.
 
So Jack stated he would no longer solicit good feedback? If so, that is a good thing. People will post about the good deals if they feel like it, without any prodding.

Personally, I think Jack is an OK guy. I just think that he has far more to contribute to BaldeForums than he has so far. I do hope to see more information based posts from him in the future.
 
Let me first state that I don't know Jack, nor have never even had ANY contact with him. From what TONS of people say, he has great knives and is a super honest person. Well that is just swell :rolleyes:

From what I gather from Jacks statements in the past is that he has an enormous knife collection and is extremely knowledgeable in the backround of many knives.

Many people are just trying to get through to Jack that maybe he should spend less time buying, selling, collecting and self promoting, and more time putting something back into these forums.

I just have one question for Jack....Is it too much too ask from you to contribute some of that knowledge with members here?

I was sitting here reading this entire Jack is good vs. Jack is this, vs. Jack is that thread, and I did a little search. Here are the results:

Jack has contributed in 241 seperate topics since joing BF.

Out of those 241 topics, 9 were in the Whine and Cheese forum, 1 in the Chris Reeve forum, 1 in the Gadgets and Gear forum and a grand total of 2 topics in the general discussion forums.

That leaves 228 other topics that were in Buying, Selling, Trading, etc.

Now I might be missing something here, but it sure seems to me that for a guy that has spent almost a year here, and has 228 topics in the buying/selling area and only 13 topics in the entire rest of the site, that is not only egotistical, but downright rude.

Jack say's that he does not look down on the guy's that buy low end factory knives. To me, it seems that he is looking down on every single member and using this site as his personal playground. And all for only $30 a year.

Now it might seem like I am attacking Jack here, and that is not my intention. My intention is to prove a point that others have tried to get across that still does not compute in Jack's mind.

That is this...How about giving something back Jack?
 
as i mentioned to ryan , things quickly get out of hand by his asdmission and mine no bad blood between us i have helped many here in different ways i think buyiong knives for my collection from guys going to shows and needing money to buy more knives from other makers qualifies this is part of the circle of life i have no problems with newbies or basic members provided they show respect and give it as i do again i respect a guy that buys 5.00 knives or 50,000.00 knives i have sold and traded with a gent from cali who has several knives each worth 50k i have a problem though with a guy who has a collection worth maybe 100.00 isnt a gold member and is giving me the blues :confused: guys you are right a gold membership does not make one better than a basic member but to me it shows me that you are commited enough to mail spark a well deserved 30.00;) thats all !!! also it shows me that you atre a bit more serious and a knife nut like me :D but i as a rukle dont look down on a guy just cause he is basic unless he is giving me **** then it would not matter a bit if he was gold or not !!!!! bottom line if you are courteous to me and respectful to me it matters not if you are basic or gold but i really think everyone should send that 30.00 to spark , especially since he has such a great forum ;) thanx :p JAXURMAN
 
seems as though everyone here wants to make me out as a "badguy " since i trade more sell more and contribute less i have done nothing wrong here folks except come here and be all i can be yes jailhack i come here for intense recreation using this as an escape so to speak of the depression i face daily in the loss of my beloved father 4 months ago to me it feels better than any drug drink or stripclub could possibly make me feel i have helped hundreds of members get the knife they want that otherwise they felt was out of reach this makes me feel good :D if you want to ask me something about a knife feel free to e mail me i paid my 30.00 to become a gold member nowhere did it say that i need to contribute more than i sell or trade in fact the only 2 things people seem to bitch about here is that i have too many good gbu post and that i dont contribute enough to other things well thats too bad ;) i am not a child and other forumites are not my parents so with that said remember this i have made many positive contributions to this forum ther are plenty of other people who can attest to this those who dont care for me or like me dont have to read my post , respond to my post or otherwise deal with me thats the beauty of it all but those that have dealt with me continue to praise me and know that i am the "real deal" i do things right so many that have dealt with me already know it thanx ;) JAXURMAN :p
 
I think it is time that we let this one die. Jack has spoken and it seems that he is happy doing what he is doing and he doesn't appreciate us thinking he doesn't contribute. His view seems to be that when he does a deal with someone and gets them that knife they really wanted that he is contributing enough to Bladeforums. That's fine, Jack is free to take part as much or as little as he likes and he seems to like things just the way they are.

For all those that find that they want to post about good deals they have done with Jack, why don't you find one of the many threads already started and add your comments to the one already included there? That way we won't have so many threads about Jack and Jack will be able to answer more than one person with each of his posts. Should save a ton of bandwidth.
