No More Spyderco For Me!

I'm fairly sure that his grammar, while awkward, didn't actually reverse his statement. He's missing a comma, but the statement "they never replied back, to my dissatisfaction" is grammatically correct.

As written, it still works, implying that he sent them his "dissatisfaction" (in the form of a critical email), and they never replied back to it.

Sorry, but I gotta use the ol' English degree for something :D

(BTW, I _love_ my Spydies, and there're at least half a dozen more I'd buy if money was no object)

You're a dumbass in person!!!

Okay... you promised... it happened anyway. New scientific fact: The world doesnt revolve around you.

lets give independent a fresh start seeing as hes brand new. independent ... now you know.. we LOVE spyderco.

C'Mon boys, get past the english and the grammer. Not everyone has a great command of the english language....stick to the topic at hand.

Personally, it gripes the crap out of me for someone to get sidetracked about punctuation, grammer and dangling participles when a discussion is going on. I really believe it is rude to point out to people that their english ain't proper. Not to mention that it smacks of a superior attitude.

I never ever experienced any email problems with Spyderco even though I am probably one of their lousiest customers. But they know I hold them in high esteem.

Their corporate com/PR/customer section is beyond reproach. Try again. They may surprise you yet. :)

Ya know what... I do agree, lets give independant another chance.
I had to get in the "dumbass in person" comment, my fcked sense of humor made me do it.

Independant - sorry I called you a loser. Seriously dude, give a company a chance before you go blasting them and saying you hate them.
Anza makes sweet knives for nice prices, I'll agree with you there - but Spyderco is a good company too. They are also much much larger than Anza, have a lot more customers and have even more emails, snail mails and phone-calls to deal with each day than Anza does. But, that does not mean they are not commited to their customers.
Spyderco listens to and responds to customer inquiry, interest and demand better than about any other knife company out there. If you give them the time, and a chance (and I mean, really, dont we all just need time and a chance?), they will come through for you.

Also, you have at your finger-tips the greatest information tool mankind has ever known, the internet - and part of that internet are several really good knife forums, including this one. You can use that to find out just about anything that has been publically released to the knife loving consumers.

Welcome to BladeForums - I hope you can stay and be a productive member, and let us go for being pricks.

Just be glad you didnt bash Busse or you would have been in real trouble :D Look we get a wee bit defensive when it comes to the man that invented the carrying clip and the one hand opening hole, Sal has answered alot of questions on the spyderco forum on this board and the one on the spyderco website. You gotta understand that e-mails are at the bottom of almost every companies list for reading just because 80-90% off them are either spam or people just trying to annoy them, that and when somebodys working they might not have time to sit for 2-3 hours and sift thru a ton of email. If you need questions asked about a spyderco just ask you'll get an answer from somebody that knows be it Sal or one of the people that work at spyderco or some dealer that sales them or one of the thousands of collectors on here. If we dont know the answer on here NOBODY DOES !!!!!!

wow, it seems to get quite *hot* around here, maybe everybody should calm down a bit...

@ independent

i can only speak for me of course, but i was wondering about those problems you have encountered with the spyderco guys.
i only sent them two e-mails back a while (about one year or so) and they both were answered within 48 hours.

i also ordered directly from the company three times knives, because my local dealer hadn't them in stock. those knives always arrived about 3-5 days later.

this is IMO a very fair and fast service/deliverance, since i live on the other side of the atlantic ocean.

my personal experience with spyderco so far: i am pretty much happy with their service, great customer support and even greater knives.

regards, holger

p.s. to all,

please don't be to hard on me for possible spell and grammar mistakes, since english is not my native language

I too sent several e-mails to Spyderco (actually to Sal´s BFC profile e-mail address) and never got any response ... So I gave the knife I had problems with to my father ;) . And we are both happy....

David

PS: I still use other Spyderco knives ....

Anyone ever notice the new registrees always post controversial topics?

A week or so ago it was Uath with the 'what knife has killed the most people' and 'carrying a big ass blade around town'...

Then comes this independent guy dissing spyderco for not replying his emails about the spyderfly which they have probably got 1000's of emails about the same thing...

I have nothing against Spyderco...i think they produce some great knives...what independent should have done was go to the Spyderco forum...

Come on...tell us...did you do that?
If you didn't shame on you...nobody really cares whether you buy from spyderco or not...less men more share...

And the grammar thing...that's just childish...i bet i can find some grammar mistakes in past threads of those who commented on it...

It seems to me that for some reason spyderco wants to keep the new items that are comeing out a big secret until they are shipping. This to me is a pain because I don't know if I should save my money for something new or get something I have been wanting from old stock.
It also seems that they must be extremly busy right now.All most no one has been posting on the forums from spyderco lately.Sal has a couple times on the forum here but its been a really long time sence he has posted over on spyderco.com.
Just because they do not respond to a email is no reason to give up on them.Ussally Sal is very quick to reply to questions and problems and that really is saying something about how good of a company they are.
BTW Sal was away from the office for a few weeks not long ago.

I'm a tech support person and I receive hundred's of E-mails per week. I don't reply to them all. I do however read them and when 10 people have the same problem I'll take care of it. If I'd reponded to every mail I wouldn't have the time to do so.

By the way, I posted a question about the Belgian Spyderco representative on the Spyderco forum here and mister Glesser answered it a day later, try something like that or use the search feature there...

Independent,

You're gonna have to change your name. Give it a day or two or 100 and change your handle. After having done so post a few dozen questions about how to sharpen, the best lock, what's a sebenza etc... then come in with the negative comment.

A good new name might be "Verbally Spanked Again and Again...

Hello Independent and "hi" my Forum Friends,

First off, welcome (Independent) to the forums, thanks for your comments. My apologies that you have not received a response from Spyderco. There are endless reasons that could have happened but whatever the cause I'm happy to answer any questions you have directly. Feel free to email or call me here at Spyderco, my email address and number are listed below.

As several forumites mentioned, check out Spyderco's two forums (both here at Bladeforums or at www.spyderco.com). Often we are more timely in posting product information there, and there are so many participating forumites are incredibly in-the-know about specific models.

Sorry we HAVE been a less punctual with information lately. New 2004 catalogs, SHOT Show prep, travel, holidays upon us and a monstrous visit from the flu have eaten up time and slowed our forum participation. Hang in there and always contact Mike Hayes in warranty and repair or myself if you need anything or are not finding answers to your questions within the same business day.

You can reach us at

For an amature collector like myself who has only owned 1 spyderco in my life; I'll be looking into more of your products!

Posting your information so readily on bladeforums is wonderful service, in my opinion!!
