So, it was pretty much exactly like I expected. The meat wasn't that great. But the potatoes and brussell sprouts were! I'm of course assuming that the Brussell sprouts were cause they were gone. The Brussell sprouts were done in bacon fat, salt, pepper, liquid smoke, and garlic.

C-bear,

I'm assuming you used a standard oven roasting pan with lid. We make our pot roast like that all the time, although we also throw in sliced bell peppers, green beans and green onion tops in as well. Sometimes add some sliced clove garlic around the top.

If the roast is turning out "overcooked", i.e., dry and tough, your temp might be too high, or you need to add more liquid to the roasting pan part-way through the cooking cycle, or both. We cook ours at 325F for 4 - 5 hours, depending on the size of the roast, checking every hour or so to make sure the pot isn't boiling dry. The onions go in with the meat from the git-go and the veggies get added later, about an 45 minutes to an hour before the meat is done.

WW, have you considered giving it an upsweep, kinda like a super long persian? That might look super awesome. I'll try to sketch something out here...

WW, I like the clip too. Looks like a good design. You gonna try to grind it yourself?

No, i dont have the tools, and id likely mess it up since i have never ground a knife out before and i definitely dont want to mess this one up LOL

My budget is already set for the next 2 months, and I have another custom that should be ready for payment anytime now. but after that, once i free up a little money ill look into having this one made for me too.

I'd probably have to agree with you Dubz.
It's unique, but at the same time it looks very "usable".
It just looks like it was born to eat!
I like it...a lot!
I hear ya man. The blade is traditional kukri, but the way that handle looks, and the way it flows into the blade looks mean.

Not finished yet but the top one is 710 Menace, overall 11-3/4 with a 6-1/4 blade, 3/16" thick 52100 steel. Centered is the 710 B.A.K (Bis A$$ Knife) 1/4" A2 and the bottom is what I am making for the beckerwest chopping contest... 710 painkiller, this baby wieghs in at 3.7 pounds, 15-3/8" overall with a 9-1/4" blade, 1/2" thick A2 steel.

There were several issues. One I was planning on making it in the slow cooker so I actually went with a cheaper cut of meat. Add to that, I don't have a ton of experience doing the oven method I am sure my heat was too high. I didn't use a covered pot however I did tent some aluminum foil over the pan.

I had scored and inserted garlic cloves (about 7 of them) and then covered the whole thing in butter and mayo and salt and pepper.

Those look great, Julio! I love me a big chopper (as you all might have guessed...)

WW, here's the persian take on your design, although I think I made the blade too long. You probably can get the idea though. More on the short sword side of things.

-edit-

This design would be sweet executed by Ryan Weeks, I bet. Seems right up his alley.

Half inch thick A2!!
That 4x4 will blast apart before you even hit it!...out of sheer respect.
I can't wait to see what that beast can do.

When I ordered my Hennessey hammock, I upgraded to the larger Hex rain fly.
I carry the standard sized fly that came with the hammock in my pack. It's roughly 6'x9'.

That's a pretty good idea, you should be a teacher of something!

I've been doing a lot of hiking at my state forest the last few days after work and it amazes me how people go in with just one bottle of water (or none!) and a pair of sandals or thongs (flip-flops to you guys).

I take in enough water for an over night trip, a full first aid kit, chem sticks, Fenix TK15 and at least one knife, and that's what I carry for a quick two hour hike. These people might be shocked if something goes wrong and they aren't prepared to deal with it. One small bottle of water won't get you far, neither will crappy footwear.

Just like I learned in scouts,Be Prepared.

Man, I get weird looks all the when I'm hiking for over packing( I think that's why anyway).

I like that BAK. Damned thing looks a bit like what AIG wants to do with the Tracker design.

I like the looks of the bottom chopper JD. If I could offer you one peice of advice, wieghin in at 3.7 lbs. isnt going to do anything but wear you out. you won't be chopping long with it. I'd definately take some weight out. Its not going to hinder the chopping ability as long as its ground accordinly and correctly.

Let us know how many grinder belts that thing eats.;)
