I know exactly how chaotic it is to fight for my life. Do you? Hell, I grew up in a chaotic life and then I joined the Army. I mean come on. When's the last time you've had to actually "fight" for your life?

Sucks to have to send a knife back once much less twice. I know any company can put out a lemon time to time, but it’s how they handle the issue that makes or breaks customer service.

This is exactly how I feel, good customer service can go a long way.

Time for this thread again... :D

https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/you-cant-do-that-with-a-zt.1286779/

Video link in there is dead now, but pics suffice.

Now after batonning a tree down, I did have to tighten the pivot screw.
I guess according to this thread I should have got rid of it instead. ;)
I did the same with cheap Chinese knives and they didn't fall apart either. In fact I needed to cut a limb off at a rental house and drove a blade on a very cheap knife straight through with a hammer last year. Wouldn't use a high dollar knife to baton with , but it's not extremely hard on a knife to do so. At least not at first it isn't. Regular use that way would definitely add up.

Batoning is more about the blade holding up, not the lock. You could do it with a slip joint if it had a big enough blade.

It is also about technique and moderation, you can get a lot of work done without necessarily abusing the knife. There is no need to pound the thing like a nail.

You never mentioned Bruce Lee in your "fight for life". Sorry, I failed the mind-reading class in college. If logging onto the forums is considered a fight for your life, maybe you should read more and post less. That seems to be a common theme around here lately...
