That's no excuse! You people are supposed to entertain me at all times! :grumpy:

I may be forced to go look at silly cat videos on youtube if this keeps up...

:p

It is going to be a rough day today. Amanda and I are heading to a funeral service for her Uncle. He was a very good man with a big smile and a heart of gold. Amanda is taking it hard.

Also is is about -15 here now and we are having to jumpstart vehicles this morning. Yay!

Sorry to hear that.

Have not seen that episode. Doing an Archer marathon tonight. Loving it. The dialogue and pop culture references are, for the most part, brilliant.

Archer is (in my opinion) just as good as The Venture Brothers.. if you have a chance, check out Frisky Dingo too, it was a 2 season series that Adam Reed did after Sealab 2021.

excess of -14 now on ground

3 feet off ground is 0

went for a 700 foot round trip to get my mail. phracking cold out there.

I walked to the mailbox barefoot yesterday, was about 75 degrees in the sun... supposed to be upper 60's today..

Sorry for your loss Dresnor and sorry to hear about your Mom's job C-Bear.. good on you for helping out, I lived with my mother for quite awhile, after her and my dad divorced and she got juvenile diabetes.

It cost me 163 dollars and an hour in line to ship out 3 boxes today. One small flat rate box to Serbia and 2 boxes that were only 12x5x5" to Australia, but they were both around 4 pounds. And i hear some prices are raising by the end of the month too.

You know how the drive thru at banks have those pneumatic tubes..... It would be nice if we could ship packages that way. If all homes had a pneumatic tube and credit card reader built into their mailbox. Then you can send mail straight to the post office from home and pay from home as well. And they could send your mail straight to your home without needing carriers.

I know you can pay for postage online and have a carrier come pick it up but i dont have a printer to print the labels.

That'll never happen... the PO would fill up with dog poop and whatnot in about two days :p

Just fried up some bacon, then fried taters and onions in the bacon grease. Damn that was good. Best bacon I've had for some time. Not overly salty.

Went to see the 2nd Hunger Games movie last night. Little bit of action, lots of story. I don't care for the romance b.s., but the storyline is pretty good. It was my daughter's first movie at the theater with us, my mom had already taken her to see Frozen last week. She did really well as far as noise, but she had a hard time sitting still. If you're invested in the story from the movie or the books I'd recommend it, but if you've never heard of The Hunger Games, pass.

I've read the complete book set. Personally, I think that the story is good, but I think that the writing style is poor and the ending anti-climatic. However, the underlying point about governments is so true. Also, the books are pretty violent--not for everyone.

I would rate the book set a 8 out of a 10.

I was making some beans to take to a pot luck with a few church folks last night and all we had was some bacon ends (the scraps that the meat market can't cut into slices) in the freezer. The BK5 easily sliced though (and diced up) a frozen solid hunk of pig flesh slices...I was pretty sure I'd break the blade on either the Henckels or the ESSEE Becker kitchen knives if I would have used one of them. Seriously could not have done it without the BK5, unless I microwaved the frozen bacon, which I really don't like doing. There is something to be said about having a lightweight chopper in the kitchen.

Fried the cut up bacon up with some yellow onions and added that, plus some black strap molasses, brown sugar, minced garlic and cumin (my favorite spice) to the canned Bush's beans and they were fabulous.
