Looks cool.

It would be awesome in S110V and Lightning Strike Carbon Fiber...

I never tried S110V. D2 is good stuff though. But for stainless id be happy with either S30V or S35VN.

They have like 4 or 5 different handle colors. I like green. CF would be cool too though.

Wow, the broccoli I completely forgot about in the garden out back has new florets growing on it. It will be fresh and frozen all at once :D

I made some green beans last night with supper. But I used a can of beef broth on them. Then added half an onion chopped up, and a couple slice of bacon and some pepper and garlic. Took 15 minutes to cook and was the second, maybe third, star of the dinner. I had them with twice baked potatoes and rib eye.

So the wife got me a Ken Onion Work Sharp for Crimmas. I decided that today was a hazy lazy cold day here (68ºF), and that I would test this contraption out. I first used on of the light grit belts and tried to sharpen up one of my cheap Chinese knock off folders. After a couple passes on the light grit, switched to a fine grit polishing belt and made a few more passes. Nothing else. That knife never was so sharp.

Now for the big test. I got out a nice trailing edge fixed blade of 154CM, made by others incorporated. I have never been able to get this thing stupid sharp. It is the toughest 154cm I have ever messed with. I got it at the right price after market, almost mint. I think the guy couldn't put an edge on it, so just sold it for less than he paid.

Mind you, I could get it shaving sharp, but only just so, and had to bust ass to do so... It needed a re-profile, and I just hadn't gotten around to doing it yet.

So I tried the light grit -> heavy polishing first... seemed like no effect.

So i backed up .. medium grit -> light grit -> heavy polishing .. still not much better.

Hail Mary... Heavy grit -> medium grit -> light grit-> heavy polishing ... better.. but still not what I wanted.

Now I am pissed at the blade, not the machine. The coarse grit gave it a toothy edge... even grabbed hair and kinda shaved and the next steps did okay... but something was missing..

So i whipped out the old strop bat, and used all four sides. Black compound, green compound, pink compound, then the plain leather. That blade stropped out to a hair popping edge. I have never seen this blade like this. Hair popping sharp. Even took some skin too.

The machine works great. I think it might sharpen about anything.

Its easy to use, I give it :thumbup::thumbup:

Worksharp needs to offer a leather belt for their sharpener. Failing that, the old fashioned strop can often salvage an otherwise unacceptable edge.

I picked up a 2x42 Craftsman belt grinder/sander for a Christmas gift to myself this am. Gonna get a leather belt to finish up where my Worksharp leaves off, though I ain't getting rid of my strops (or water stones, FTM). And I might grind some steel with it, too :D.

I tried mine out for the first time today. My first blade was a cheap Chinese kitchen knife. Using the Sharpening guide I got the edge I needed with the belts required. It worked ok. Then I got out one of the finer Japanese kitchen blades I have had for about 15 years. This thing had never been sharpened at all, and it wouldn't cut anything. I looked at the edge and it was dang near flat. So, using the sharpening guide again and belts required, I did the required amount of passes and nothing. It was still duller than dull. Well, I was pissed so I got out the coarsest belt, cranked up the speed and went to work. After about 10 passes, it started to look like a knife edge. Then I went down to the other belts and lower speeds until I got a good edge. I'm proud of the results after thin slicing a pear with no more effort that pointing the knife in the general direction of the pear.

I'm jealous WW. That is one badass beast.

I don't want to get on the wrong side of you...gosh, that is a beast!

It is nice. Chopping machine. Probably wouldn't fit my hand though.

Thanks guys!! I do LOVE this knife. It bites deep and clean!!

Warrior the handle is huge, I actually thought it would be too big a handle for me but my hand lock in good at the top. I honestly think you would be fine.... you can compare it here a little to the BK9 and others....
