Noah's Snark! Get In Before The Flood...

Had about 3 hours of work I needed to do on my lathe. My back hurts like hell now. Its just at the right height that I barely have to bend. But over time, that position is hell.

It's the worst thing for ya. Being my height, I've run into that problem a lot over the years. A "normal" person would be pretty uncomfortable working at my bench now. ;) All I can really say about it is, build to suit yourself. Vik's idea makes sense to me.

These are my grandfathers, and my wife's grandfathers carry knives. I am very proud/honored to have these knives in my possession.

That's awesome. Obviously we're on the same page

30... I don't even remember turning 30. :D

I turn 30 years old in exactly 2 months.

Im getting old.

Need to figure out what knife i want for my 30th birthday.

Hey WW, your 30th is 4 days after mine!

No kiddin. I'll be hittin the big 40 Feb. 1st. Seems like I was 30 last year.

You youngsters

Ditto what Psyop and Warrior said... The still have moisture behind their aural sensory receptors...

I remember my 30th birthday vaguely.. I think the night ended off with me getting wasted in a lesbian bar.. the bartender was one of the coolest people I have ever met and she got me HAMMERED.. Also my girlfriend then, wife now gave me a model rocket as a gift and I knew then i was going to marry her :)
I thought 35 was the crest of the wave, but 45 has been pretty damn good so far...

Morning Everybody. Coffee....

Seems like a decent cup could be had in the Seattle area. My coffee at breakfast was barely warm...disappointing when it's -10F outside.

Getting a super fine snow. Got a dusting this morning.

Good deal too, if one were to have money.
Of course, if I had the cash, I would not have provided that info....:(
Im getting old.
WE ARE ALL GETTING OLD. Even my 9 year old. Get used to it, the alternatives kinda suck.

Me either.

As for the rest of you: PUHLEEZE!....I just went for PT yesterday; the therapist is like half my age (which is knida nice, actually ;))....and I'll be 51 at the end of the month, but I don't feel that old YET (most days, anyway). I'm sure there are members here quite a bit older than me (and all of you whippersnappers), but I don't hear no bitching from them! No sense living with one foot in the grave....

Vik's idea makes sense to me.
Makes sense to me, too. Make it so, Tiberius! Take this from from the guy who just had back surgery...if your back is trying to tell you to work smarter...listen to it!

Saying you like "real Mexican food" is kinda like saying you like "real American food".

There are almost as many varieties of Mexican foods as there are states in Mexico. The coastal area dishes tend to be heavy on seafood dishes, while the interior states lean more towards beef, sheep, goat or "mystery" meat as the dog tacos show.

Down in the Yucatan rain forest, I was also exposed to grilled Basilisk lizard, BBQd bat and Fer-de-Lance stew. Some are VERY spicy and some are so bland as to be down right "English". You think chicken wings are thin on meat, try bat wings. It takes about 20 bats to make a mouthful, unless it's one of the giant fruit bats (forget the scientific name). Those suckers are about the size of large doves, nearly 2 pounds.
I wasn't trying to instigate anything. I was more saying not Taco Bell and the fast food "Americanized" places. The places when you walk in everyone is speaking Spanish and the place looks like it hasn't really been cleaned in about 8 years.

Haha, I hear that. My butt is broke. Kathy and I are going to go to southern Illinois next week, for our anniversary though. We always save money during the year for that. No matter how broke we are, we never tap into that money. It's not very much anywhos. We usually go somewhere close, within a 2-6 hour drive. Have had the cabin booked for some time now, so the money will just be for gas and food. Looking forward to getting out again. We were gonna try to hit a few areas we haven't been to yet, such as Stone Face, One Horse Gap, and the Bell Smith Springs Recreation area. Can't wait to hit the trail again. Forecasted weather around the 40° mark, so not bad.

You couldn't pick better places to go Dubz. I used to lead a hike from Glen O Jones lake to Stone Face. One of the best hikes anywhere. While you're in the area be sure to head over to G. O. Jones lake and check out the Tecumseh statue and the trails, etc. over there. Fabulous country. Cave hill is just up the trail from the statue.

I wanna post this video for 2 reasons. 1. to annoy Murph. :D 2. because it is a really cool video, reminds me of the GOOD cartoons we used to watch as kids.

There is some excellent coffee but also a Starbucks on every corner. Sometimes 3 :)
