Gear ordered last year showed up.

I like my Camelbak Dogturd HAWG and matching Zancudo. The Zancudo is a steal on par with the Dozier folders.

I also picked up a couple of the Maxpedition Fatty Organizers. These things are durn handy.

You couldn't pick better places to go Dubz. I used to lead a hike from Glen O Jones lake to Stone Face. One of the best hikes anywhere. While you're in the area be sure to head over to G. O. Jones lake and check out the Tecumseh statue and the trails, etc. over there. Fabulous country. Cave hill is just up the trail from the statue.

Will try to check it out. Both Stone Face, and One Horse Gap are about 19 miles from the cabin, and Bell Smith about 30 or so miles away.

I have the EDC organizer. Amazing how much you can pack into one:

Bell Smith Springs is a must see. Have some good topos with you or stay on the trails though. I spent seven hours "bushwhacking" in there once. :D

That's cool, Dubz. I like those little Channel Locks.

I plugged this stove in a text to trade last week. Snow Peak Litemax Titanium.
It's the only stove for which I've bought a duplicate to put back, but I liked it that much in my initial tests.
This weekend, I'm taking it hiking.

Uh oh, haha. I was gonna pack light, perhaps I should take an over nighter just in case.

I find those little channel locks at the local farm stores. They're about $12. Handy little dudes. That stove looks kick ass. I'm hoping to use my Emberlit, and Snow Peak Kettle next week.

I'm not nearly the gear fanatic some of you gents are, but I must say... that looks pretty dang interesting

That's just a fun stove to use. Did you see where it fits perfectly into a Staples pencil/notebook pouch? With pockets for other essentials too (fire kit, fatwood, etc.).

They're good kit. Top one is going in my truck bag. Bottom one will live in my ready-to-go hiking pack.

Guyon, was curious if my Emberlit would fit into my EDC pouch. It would if I put it in the front, in place of all the gear I have in it, but there's no way it would slide into one of the rear pockets. WIll the Emberlit fit into the Fatty's pocket?

Awesome man, I still need to gt a pouch for it. I got one of the longer ones from Wally, but I would like to get one that fits. Emberlit sells a nice looking camo pouch for it, but damn, they're proud of 'em.

Old age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance...

I heard this from a coworker when i was a wee 20-something, now days I have a better understanding of exactly what it means :D

Funny how that works, ain't it? :D

Yeah, the Staples pouch is nice because you can put a lighter, firesteel, etc. in that front mesh pocket and some sticks of fatwood in the back. The pouches are $3-$4 if I remember right.
I drive by a Staples every day. If you can't find one of those pouches, give a shout and I'll mail you one.

I'll check later to see if the Fatty pocket will hold the Emberlit. My suspicion is no, but I'll verify.

Alright, sounds good. Kathy wanted to go into town tonight, and Staples would be right there, so I'll look.

Thanks man.

Some of the Condors for 2014 look pretty cool. Joe posted some up at BCUSA.

In other news. I just came in from the shop. Had about 3 hours of work I needed to do on my lathe. My back hurts like hell now. Its just at the right height that I barely have to bend. But over time, that position is hell. I think I need to jack my lathe up and pour about a 9in. high concrete pad underneth it. Just one more thing I don't have the time and money for. Any suggestions?

Hey Todd (or Tim, Temiqua, Trevor or whatever your name is) The thought just occurred to me that you could just weld or bolt extensions to the legs and then you'd be able to bolt it to the floor. Then you wouldn't have a huge concrete slab to bust up if you move the lathe or move to a new house.
