...In a backpack with your bone saw, rubber/nitrile gloves, plastic bags, and other field dressing gear should not be a problem. Plus, as Dex says, ...

Does this sound like the pitch for the Showtime "Dexter" series to anyone else?

anybody see us on 60 Minutes tonight?

yep!
I haven't seen it yet either, though I was on board when it was filmed... I get off the ship tomorrow and will check it out (and the NOVA special) when I get home.

I just had time to skim it. Looks pretty cool.

What's the NOVA special?

similar segment via WGBH/NOVA/PBS. It aired earlier this week. The two film crews were out back to back.

If HB-3884 passes, there will no longer be any "illegal" knives, there will only be what you do with them being illegal.
This is how it should be... everywhere.

You are correct, gentlemen! KnifeRights is working very hard to help us with that, and making a lot of progress  At least in America... I don't know if there's a Canadian chapter.

There are guys that kill them with knives, if their pit bulls can pin them for a bit.
A couple years ago I ground bevels on some spearheads for a guy that wanted to stick pigs with 'em. At a range of about 6 feet. Have fun, said I.

They lose a lot of pit bulls. Wild boar can rip them apart.

Yeah, see, that's what I'm saying. Running away across a field is one thing... but I don't wanna corner anything that can rip apart pit bulls (plural). Y'all go ahead; I'm just not that hungry, and frankly it seems a little unkind to the dogs. I'll be up a tree 50 yards away, or better yet, back at the diner keeping a close eye on the coffee and donuts , eating bacon that's already dead... ;)

I saw ya Daisy! The whale footage was badass! Along with the Robert E Lee, but if it was really just a passenger ship what was up with the big ass gun on the front?

T'was a good showing in Missouri. People are tired, some are drunk, some aren't allowed in Chesterfield again.

Here in Canada our knife laws are pretty simple. Anything Auto (push button), dagger, or balisong is prohibited and illegal to carry on your persons. Everything else is fair game to EDC 'with a purpose or reason' (it just can't be self defense -dont get me started on this one). The four knives I carry on my person is for Food, Cardboard, Letter opening, and general packages/ toys/ yard work . Police stations, courthouses, and municipal buildings are no-no's (leave em in the car). Malls or public places are under the subjection of the 'Trespass to property act' - meaning if the owner of the property or steward of the property (hired security) say no, you must leave em in the car. I've never been hassled in public even while carrying my 5 around (I'm outside a 'major' city tho), I wouldn't exactly walk around down town like that - its just asking for unwanted attention. If you use common sense you'll be left alone.

I've heard a few horror stories of people being harassed by our law enforcement officers for open carry, but you get that everywhere. It depends on the officer and what kind of day they are having. Easiest thing to do is comply, then go to the station and lodge a complaint or laywer up.

We have two major firearms rights organizations to which I am a member with through my local range.https://nfa.ca/ and http://www.cdnshootingsports.org/. If I ever had a problem I would contact them to find out who they would recommend to deal with a rights issue up here. On Facebook there is a Knife Rights Canada, but I don't know if it is any way associated with KnifeRights. I would join if it was!

woo!
I imagine it was sensible to arm civilian ships a bit too, though fat lot of good it did against that u-boat.

Well, one of the people in the play dropped out. Apparently they thought their job was a lot more conforming that it actually is. There are a few people that might do it, hopefully someone shows up..

Damn Discovery Canada is two episodes behind! I watched last night but had to want 'your' episode online today! Nice exposure :D

So at the Gathering Todd had these handy dandy Patrol Machaxen and only had enough sheath for two. I gave my BK9 sheath to Ole Jerry, but that left me without a sheath for my BK9. Realizing that this was a subtle move by my subconscious to get me to make a kydex sheath for it, I complied.

By far one of the most difficult I have made, mostly because I hit the maximum envelope of what my kydex press can handle, and was against the wall to begin with as I didn't have any larger pieces to try again if I screwed up, so I was extra careful whilst doing this. 27 holes later, 54 nylon washers (this is one of my sheaths with the "air welt" open sided design) and quite a lot of filing and sanding and my 9 is in some decent pants again.

Also, watching the latest episode of Naked and Afraid. Looks like the M18 is doing it's darndest to keep that poor guy alive.
