Yeah, a 25 gets you assured admission into OSU, which is about 6 miles from me.
But yeah I'll probably retake at least one more time. For two reason
1) I'm going to try for a scholarship
2) my sister got a 32, so if I can beat that then I'll be really happy![]()
Nice bird Dres. Kids smiling so hard looks like his face is about to break.I hear you on coating breaking a pain. Was cutting some boxes up today with the 2 (coated) and then used my 2 stripped and makes a big difference. There is definately alot of meat on turkey's. How many can you shoot in a day? I never have gone hunting for them. Not around where I'm at. There's a good amount in lower MN though from what I hear. My cousin goes all the time. Here's a pic with a couple she got.

Funny you mention that. I just got the same one from UPS Thursday. Got it stripped and sharpened yesterday not didn't get any pics. Picked up some PCB etch from the shack yesterday. Hope to get to it tomorrow sometime. Going to look at a kayak in the morn. Two person wilderness system, hope to get at the right pric . I'm ready to get on the water and get some fishing out of my system. I'm the same way, I use whatever I got, usually an ugly stick with whatever reel it came with. It was a hand me down. I picked up a bait caster Daiwa with rod at a thrift store last year for $7 but haven't quite gotten the hang of it. And on a kayak I'd rather just use what's easy.Dynamic, received the hawk today, thanks brother!! Nothing wrong with this what so ever!! Already cleaned her up a bit, later ill strip the rest of the coating, do a little more sanding and smoothing, then probably elctro etch my worldwood logo on it pretty deep, bath it in ferric chloride, then do a FC brush down on it to darken it up a little more... and maybe even stonewash the head (undecided)... then sharpen her all up!!

Beckerheads, what do you prefer to use when making home made tinder to catch sparks from a firesteel?

Keep us posted on the hawk, I'll post some pics tomorrow in my progress.

If you're making homemade, I'd go with dryer lint. Catches easily, burns for long enough to get your fire going and weighs nothing. I have a huge bag I've been collecting for a couple years (when SWMBO doesn't chuck it) and have a tin filled with it - you can pack a lot in because it's so compressible - that is in my starting kit for the fire pit. Unless you're a line dryer....then I guess you're SOL for lint. Unless your bellybutton collects it like mine.......
Dryer lint.
I have spent good money or tinders, spent time making them using cotton and vaseline etc.... But for a cheap excellent tinder that can be shoved ANYWHERE taking barely ANY room and still catch a quick spark... Dryer lint. Free and has never failed me unless it was wet.
I think i have a youtube video somewhere showing lighting dryer lint with a ferro rod... Not that you need to see it to understand it LMAO
