I am having some trouble here with a member here GRAVELFACE: who said they wanted to buy a very special Busse item i have forsale it has been 4 months now and full payment has not been made. I am getting very tired of his excuses and lately no responses at all. This member even has wanted to buy other knives on his personel page  Your thoughts would be appreciated.

4 months time elapsed. Now, no replies.
You answered your own question my friend.
I think identification is necessary so others don't get taken.

You've been really patient to wait that long. Holding a knife as a courtesy for a little while is one thing; this seems to be like you're getting strung along. However, when it gets to the point of being ignored that says to me they're not able to honor their commitment and also not willing to own up to that fact. The former is understandable since we all know money is tight and shit happens, but the latter is not. I'd say it's entirely fair at this point to tell them you're voiding the sale, refunding whatever they've paid you so far, and moving on.

I just edited my first post the member is GRAVELFACE:eek: i even told him over a month ago if he didnt pay in full ASAP he would forfeit his payment allready made, then i looked at his personel page and he has posted there he wants other knives.

Gravelface seems to be having a lot of trouble keeping his end of deals right now. He owes sheaths to a lot of people. I understand that he has had health problems as of late, but he has been on Bladeforums in the last couple of days, so he should at least be communicating with those he owes.

Four months is way too long to take to make payment. I can fully understand your frustration.

If the guy is having health problems I think you should refund him the money he has paid. You still have the knife and all its cost you is aggravation. If Mr. Gravelface is ill and is facing a plethora of medical bills you could do the kind thing and send the money back. He prolly could use it to defray medical bills.

nothing lost nothing gained but some frustration.

I have had people not pay me because of unforseen medical expenses. One fella was a guy named Bob Barnett. Bob agreed to buy a BM spike from me and never paid. I got upset and then found out later that he could not pay because his little girl was sick. I felt bad.

Bob has since passed away and I wished I treated him better.

just my .o2 cents..

Ren

Ren makes a good case for returning the money and moving on. It’s only a knife and you didn’t really lose anything besides time and aggravation.

It might help the guy. Sometimes maybe a small kindness like this could be the turning point in a persons life / situation and motivate / enable them to move ahead.

And if not you can still feel good that at least You did the right thing.

IF he is is having health problems he should of let me know, I have said i wanted knives here and had to back out before,i just let the seller know i wouldnt be able to purchase the knife and said i was sorry. What i do not understand he is still advertising he wants other knives but can not pay for the one he allready said he wanted !!!! I have known Jason from here a long time and have had many dealings with him and even gave him a opportunity to join my Elevator UNION under the helmets to hard hats program. I thought it would be a much better carreer than working at circuit city. All we need here is I AM SORRY and the rite thing will happen.

I do agree with the above. That is just doing it the right way.
At the same time though, a simple answer/reply/note...something
would be nice. Especially since he has been spotted on here recently?

Maybe his pride is taking a hit since he was/is sick. I've gotten that way
before, makes you feel bad when you can't do something you've promised
and admitting you can't do it is very hard, even if it is something you
have no control over.

Hope it turns out OK for you DE OPPRESSO LIBER, and I hope all is well with Gravelface.

All Jason has to do is man up and say he cant afford the Busse Original AK and its a done deal, I actually bought my first Busse blade from him off of feebay. and have talked with him many times on the phone tried to get him a really good job which was a done deal because of his military service, all he had to do is make the call. HUMILITY can be a hard pill to swallow. The words I AM SORRY can be very healing to both parties involved :D

i would say atleast a partial refund. If medical excuses are really the truth he shouldnt be out trying to purchase other knives especially if hes commited to yours. I say do what most businesses do and charge a 10% restock fee. Its compensation for your time and you could have had that knife sold by now. You shouldnt lose out completely. Plus medical or no medical getting snubbed is rude. And its not like he just dissapeared hes actively pursuing other purchases. BAD JU JU!

Thanks for the "Head Up".FWIW I always check peoples feedback before I sell or trade with them.
If the guy does have an unexpected medical condition,I hope he fairs through it & sets the deal right.
You have been very patient:thumbup:I start getting antsy after a week or two:o

I am not looking to make money from someones misfortune! I am sure it would of been sold a long time ago!!! The sword is very rare and is dead drop mint. i only threatened to not refund him to get him to make a move he did then send more CASH to me. then weeks go by again i told him i would be forced to open this thread here and no response for a long period again.

Let me start off by saying that I really like Gravelface as a person, a great dude who since i met him has been very friendly to me at all times even when things were not going his way....But,,, i would not blame DE OPRESSO LIBER.. if he were to sell the Ak to someone else and keep some or all of the deposit or give it all back!!!! either way,, Gravelface, the businessman has disappointed some people here on the forum since before Blade 08,, I have called, made emails, and pm's to people explaining his situations,,, and trying to ease there Anger for him.. all the while having my stuff being put off by him.. I like the Dude and I have Mad RESPECT for him and the sacrifices he has made for our Country!! But, If you can't complete sheaths or finish paying for Knives.. tell someone.. and Just send them there Stuff back!... This hurts me to write this...but, i have made too many excuses for u Bud.. Get Well and then take care of your business,, Jeremy

I have had a recent problem with Gravelface also.

On 4-21-08 I PayPal'd him $85.00 for two sheaths. After sending him 4 PM's and 3 emails asking about the status, I finally just gave up and wrote it off. That amount of money was not worth the aggravation to me. He would always eventually respond and state he would get right on it, but he never did. After almost 5 months of waiting I sent him a final PM on 09-11-08 telling him nicely to just forget about the sheaths, and that he could keep my $85.00 as a donation to his medical expenses. He did not respond to that PM, so I don't know if he ever received it. I am posting here so that he knows he owes me nothing, and more importantly so that others can make an informed decision with regard to doing business with him.

I wish you well Jason, but I will not do business with you again.

This is not good info i am starting to see here, donating money is one thing but in this case it is outrite Stealing  as far as iam concerned and this kind of conduct should get you moved to the Hall Of Shame and kicked off of this site permanitely. Jason you had my respect and i know you did from alot of others here that is not the case anymore:thumbdn:. alot of others have contacted me with simular experiances also.

Jason posted over at the Scrap Yard site after an extended absence at the beginning of the month:

Howdy Dogs......I am back again...it has been a trying past few months with a new child, new house, new surgeries.......and now a new Hurricane!

I just hope my knives don't rust!

There is a bit of reading I have to catch up on.....and a few other things.

So what's new in the Yard?

I won't attempt to make excuses for somebody else, nor would I try to put words in their mouths. I don't know if, in the course of moving or due to meds he may have lost track of some things or been cut off from email access. I'm just posting this information in the hopes that it may help you get in contact with him to resolve issues. Jason is both a long-time Hog and JYD, so I hope these problems are unintentional and can be resolved without long-term reputation damage.
