Northwoods 15?

Forgot all about the special timed event this am.
Congratualtions to all that got the black bone. I wasn't overly impressed by the pictures they had of the scales at the factory...but that pic that Derrick put in his email the other day was a stunner and these #15's are too...am not surprised it sold out that quickly.

Perry you have the full set!

Love that one as well Perry! Great score! I was a little torn between a more solid black dye like you found, but I stuck with my program: I went in to this with a clear intention of finding a very speckled bone, and while I was looking, I was watching the pages of available options disappearing rapidly! I knew whichever I chose quickly was going to be great, and figured I would leisurely browse once I locked in my choice. Nothing leisurely about the rush on these this morning! Your pictures in this thread are a particular factor in why I decided to blow all my lunch money on this one. :D
Thanks,
Brian

No I don't, Steve. Don't own the red saw cut or the Orange camel bone. Those are the two I didn't really want though.

I have a black camel bone and a red sawcut I ordered today on the way. I'll post my own photos when I get them. As a place holder, here's KSF's photo of the black one and the stock photo of the red sawcut.

Thank you Brian! Pics for me, are more or less a reminder of what I bought till the knife shows in the mail. Although I will say that the Ivory was really a challenge to photograph! My wife actually got Smokey for me this morning. I was busy singin like a girl, working at the time.

Brain, I went with the one my wife chose because I gave her specific guidelines to find something different from my blue version without going too light in color, and to stay away from anything that looked too extreme, my blue bone being a bit more that way. She did really well! Course we have been married for a long time now!

Fine looking choices, Dean! You got lucky on that red saw cut!

Sounds like you two are a formidable team! The blue bone you have is certainly not understated; great looking group you have assembled.
Brian

Thank you Brian, that's what I'm trying to put together. All very different, in one way or another and all unique. Course they are all that way I think, across the entire run.

Sure would like to see some beautiful mammoth Ivory in these before the ban kicks in!;)

Number 87 on its way to me. The way they were disappearing in front of my eyes was almost terrifying. I didn't want to waste time taking a screenshot, so I'll post pics up when it arrives. Can't wait for this one!

Dang.. I'm getting things wrong with you Perry, although I think I "foresaw" your Ivory!:p
The Northwood #15 are all good. It has been a good series.

I've been lucky getting knives twice, Perry! Drained my funds, but I really wanted a red saw cut! I'll be waiting (im)patiently to get it in hand. Photos in probably a week.

You've got quite a group of these yourself! My wife also participated in the ordering today - she waited until I got done and then we talked about it. :D

Are they banning mammoth Ivory, too?! Seems odd as they've been extinct for 10,000 years so no one is poaching them. I like looking at the mammoth handled ones. Some of them are incredible with the cracks and aging.

I would agree, Steve! That is, on the part that you said concerning the success of these. :D
I was not anticipating them being this popular. I thought that maybe a few here would find them unique, but I found them to be one of the most tempting knives I've seen in a long time!

Derrick, please correct me if I'm wrong but I think any Ivory would be included in the proposed/imposed in some states and overseas already ban.

I managed to get one black, one blue ... *yey* :)

Unfortunately I screwed up the ordering and have them coming in two shipments. $60 each to Germany. :/
I hope the guys at Knivesshipfree can combine this into one shipment ...

We were trying for this one at the bottom on the GEC page pic, think we came close and might even be the ONE!

Congrats to everyone that picked up a black version. Also, thanks to the fine folks at KSF and GEC for working to make this hobby fun and interesting.

My choice slipped between my fingers as I was debating between two models. I guess it wasn't meant to be, this round. Oh well, the hunt will continue. :)

That is correct. Oregon, New York, New Jersey and California, I believe have all passed laws banning mammoth as well as elephant ivory.
