Northwoods #79, a dream come true?

I cannot decide which new Fremont I like more. Nevertheless, as the weeks come and go, I will be toting, using, and enjoying my absolute favorite GEC SFO pattern.

I've been out of the country for the summer and only recently got back. I missed "The Porch" and the people who hang out. I hope everyone is doing well. I'll be back out Monday as I've finally got to a point of sanity from coming back from my summer home. This post is worthless without pics...a grail, for sure.

Big thanks to the KSF crew and Derrick. It was an awesome release, and I'm sure, no one expected it to sell out in a little over 18 minutes. Wow. Just wow.

I also want to also add that this is the first GEC run that has been an all 10 on factory effort (that I've seen). At least all mine are 10s. GEC did an absolute perfect job on this batch of Fremont Jacks.

Talk to y'all next week! Enjoy the weekend! ✌️
Very, but what's up with the gloves?

Both look great.. I would have a hard time picking which one to use. I think I'd lean towards the bottom one because it looks like it has more character in the color. I see purple, red, brown, white.. can't go wrong with either. Glad they arrived safely.

Thanks, I need better camera skills for sure. These are both extremely nice! I had a cocobolo Fremont and these are at least as fine.

Right now I have the orange one on the desk to look over, really nice - I like the orange and black; but I agree the brown one seems to have a bit more depth. Both are perfect as far as F&F and have great heat-treat color.

Thanks to KSF and the Big D for another set of spot-on knives, and coins!

And good luck on yours getting there today.

Those green giraffe bone cover are worthy of the gloved treatment also.:D:thumbup::thumbup:
Here is mine..and yes fnf a 10.

Really nice knife, you chose there. I agree, the green are awesome. I too got one and it was my favorite until the MI arrived.

I hate it when people quote a half page of pictures, but look at this knife!!!!!!!! Wow, love it...

Thanks pal, it really is much more alive with color in person. I'm blown away by it.

Very, but what's up with the gloves?

I have acquired too many knives, and I made a personal rule that if I pull a pocket knife out for use, I'll use it exclusively for a week or longer. It could take a year before I tote a knife again, so I make sure after I service them from use I don't touch them with bare hands, so no fingerprint patina happens. In this instance, I had just got this knife, and don't know when I'll be giving it it's first service for use or storage, so I just opted to not touch it bare handed yet.

I swore to myself that I was gonna downsize everything I own, after I came back to the US. However, the Fremont Jack is my favorite SFO GEC pattern, so I lost this go around.

Gotcha. I guess everyone has different levels of standards. ;) You definitely got a nice one there.

I missed out on these and I was on the site at least a dozen times in the past week. No idea how I missed it except I did not watch the video.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site and wanted to share with you one of my recent acquisitions. I was lucky enough to obtain one of the Northwoods Fremont Jack Giraffe bone samples. It is amazing how much variation there is in both Giraffe bones and Mammoth Ivories. The green and blue Giraffe bone are to die for, but were snapped up in seconds and gone. Enjoy!

My Black Camel Bone and my other two Fremont Jacks

(Paraphrased for space)

Really nice selection of Fremonts. Elephant Ivory and Mammoth Ivory are the other two...

If one pictured on the 3 is MI, did you get it this run of FJs?

Thanks! The Mammoth Ivory is from the October 2014 run.

I was fortunate to tour the GEC factory when many of these Fremont Jacks were rolling down the line(s), and they stood out like scattered jewels throughout the various workstations. Such striking, beautiful variety in themselves, and juxtaposed together!

Congratulations to those of you who snagged these beauties, and thank you for sharing your pictures here.
