Northwoods Madison Barlow

BearBug - thanks for posting the photo. I have an osage orange handled Madison on the way. Should be here tomorrow.

Biomed, I'm sure you're gonna like it. A lot of character yet I don't feel bad to use it. I hope to see yours once you get it.

Newest addition joins my first Madison. I really like the brown sawcut handles... great job all around!

That mammoth is incredible.

Unless I'm terribly mistaken, it's a "stand alone" NW pattern. At least at the current time. I do wonder if the same blade used on it is the same as the drop point blade on the GEC 42. Wouldn't surprise me if that were the case.

Interest seeks to be waning on these since they've been out a while. I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of the feel of denim micarta in hand, so I pulled th trigger on a brown saw cut. It should be called autumn gold saw cut because it's the same color. I'm super impressed with this version. I absolutely love it and I was grateful that there are more than enough to go around! Thanks Derrick and GEC!

Thx for the compliments guys!

The handles are glued on the cross cut mammoth. They seem super durable though.

Beautiful Madisons guys! I am hoping for my second here in a few days if I play my cards right with the wife : )

I got my Madison Barlow in Cocobolo today. I wanted to get one because I like cocobolo and my brother has one of these and I wanted to check one out. The Cocobolo is lighter and more orange than I'm used to but very nice with interesting grain. It has a nice smooth 5 pull, with nice snap open. Snap closed could be a little stronger, but I hate blade rap (like I had on a 43) so it is good for making that less likely. I also haven't oiled it yet. It has great fit and finish with no gaps and perfect centering. An extremely well made knife, but for whatever reason I'm not sure I'm connecting with it.

Here's an overview video I made on my YouTube channel:

I've got lots of other videos on GEC and some Northwoods knives so check those out also.
