Looks like the Broadway Jack is about to have a big brother. I love the Broadway, so this might be a winner!

From the GEC site:

Northwoods
MICHIGAN EO JACK
SFO: Derrick Bohn
Wharncliffe Blade / Easy Open / All Steel
Black Camel Bone
Green Camel Bone
Blue Camel Bone
Orange Camel Bone
Blood Red Saw Cut Bone
Oiled Camel Bone
Denim Micarta
Mammoth Ivory

Really, does that mean 100 knives or 50 knives making 100 camel bone. Either way it's frustratingly impressive how quick they're gone. This would be cool with a bail.

In my opinion the image says 50 pair (50 knives) of orange camel bone. Which is not enough! Orange camel bone doesn't look that great in images, but in the hand it has a nice depth of color.

I would like to see more of the orange dye taken up by the camel bone. maybe boil it up longer, double the time !
Many of the orange ones i have seen on line are more white than orange.

Derrick and KSF are in Michigan now, so that makes sense. I'll have to check 'em out!

I hope these don't have the stamped blade with the Northwoods logo across the top.

Is the Michigan Jack being made on the 77 frame ?
What is the Broadway Jack GEC pattern # ?
thanks, i get confused by so many pattern numbers to try to remember.

What will make the Michigan Jack different from all the other knives using the 77 frame ? I think the answer is an easy open notch and Derricks stout Warncliffe-ish blade. This is a unique blade but not as all round useful as a Clip or Spearpoint. I would like to see the Northwoods brand define itself by unique patterns rather than just a unique blade profile, more along the line of the Case/Bose collabs. whose patterns are not in the regular Case offerings. There are many Traditional patterns from 100 years ago that are no longer in production that could be brought back as a Northwoods. This would increase price but be a dramatic 'move' that would truly set the Northwoods line apart from the regular GEC production knives.
Waynorths Washington Jack is an example of an old pattern being brought back and it is a superb addition to the world of Traditional knives. Northwoods could mine the great old patterns and become a truly special line of top end knives.

I totally agree. Hold onto your socks.

That's awesome. Really looking forward to future production. For now though, will be quite happy when these new Michigan jacks hit the shelves for sale. Will have to pick up one (or two, or even three) to try out :) especially to see how they face off with the SFO 77 barlows. Coming from GEC, I imagine they'll be great

"I totally agree" WOW !
This is GREAT news.
We are living in a very special time for Traditional knives in USA. The quality of these knives is better that it has been for about 100 years, or maybe even ever. The cutlers at GEC and CSC are skilled and now experienced. This is the right time to challenge them to rise to an even higher level, one that approaches the Sheffield creations of 100+ years ago.
Northwoods brand might be leading the way. We will be broke, but have so many exquisite knives we will be happy.
That said, i have an example of nearly all of the current Northwoods knives. They are excellent knives and i love every one of them. I don't need them all but cannot bring myself to part with even one.
