NOTABLE PAIRS : Only traditionals

I think this pair is pretty notable. A Vic Electrician and Pioneer, Silver and Black: Just Win, Baby (NFL trivia). :D

Very nice pair, GT! I've never owned any Vics, if you wouldn't mind, what is the draw to these knives?

Thanks, Perry! :)
I can only speak for myself, of course, but probably the main draw for me is that my first knife was a Colonial Forest-Master, a scout knife or camper, and SAKs are very similar to "my first love". Other factors in SAK appeal for me are the wide availability (both new and used), the relatively low price, the consistently high quality/workmanship, and the appeal of a small toolkit in my pocket. And then there's the whole alox addiction that I have but can't explain so far!:o

Perry, I actually have two of the old fashioned Wenger Standard Issue Soldier's knives, no longer produced. But I've owned Vics and a Victorinox SAK was the first knife my daughters ever owned, given as Christmas or birthday gifts. I can say the following about them...

Sharpest out of the box factory edges you will ever experience.

Lightweight and durable, built to be used and abused.

Thin profile: a four blade SAK is about the same thickness, or thinner than, the average two blade GEC.

Caplifter. Two screwdrivers. Sharpest dang can opener you've ever cut yourself on. A punch that is sharper and more useful than the average small pen blade. (This is on the Soldier or Wenger SI.)

Traditional: made in the same place by the same company for over a century.

Inexpensive. My pair of Wenger's cost less than $50 new, about $22 each. (Unfortunately, now they are collectible since Vic ended production of traditional Wengers a few years after the takeover.)

Not a pair? That's because the other one is still in its box with the bale still attached in mint condition, just in case I lose this one!

That's a stunning pair of pairs, Shawn! Love the sheepsfoot-pen blade combos in each pair.:thumbup:
