NOTABLE PAIRS : Only traditionals

Louis Bromfield would agree with you Gevonovich. Any place that Bogart and Bacall would honeymoon has a lot going for it.

Built in two different years, but kinda a matching pair.
American Elk covers.

Thanks Ron.
I recently recognized how much I like Smooth White Bone, now unfortunately (at least for the wallet) I have to be on the look out for more.:D

An old Utica and an Orchard Gem with about 70 + years between them. The tone in the scales matches so wonderfully.

Your nautical picture is superb! That pair of knives are just splendid. So many fine accents add up to magic

A very thought provoking image! A testament to the passion for the art form. And...a moose horn backdrop... very cool:thumbup::thumbup:

...
Robin, there have been a lot of splendid pairs posted in this thread since redsparrow revived it less than 3 weeks ago, but for my money, your pairing/photo "takes the cake!":eek::eek::thumbup:

Stunning. You would never know just from looking that these two were generations apart. That is a lovely Utica, and I'll bet that Northfield looks just as nice in 70 years too.

Thanks Fellas, GEC sure got the pattern right and the bone is pure old school beautiful. I fell in love with this pattern as soon as I saw the first few of Lyles world class collection. His knowledge of the Farmers Jack is fathoms deep, I feel lucky to know him.

best regards

"Notable" is quite subjective. This pair is notable to me, even if the quality of the knives involved may not match most of the pairs typically posted in this thread. I've become quite a canoe enthusiast, and I'm "tickled pink" about acquiring these matching small and large stainless Chinese Taylor Imperial canoes with cracked ice celluloid handles!
