Read my response. No follow up messages were received from lozdesign7. If you think my responses are a binding contract then fair cop. All I ask is that you look at everything to see if I was given a fair go.

Were you ever told it was yours and given the payment info(looks like you were)?
Were you offering a counter offer of $620 including express vs $620 standard mail.

If I read this right this may come down to a misunderstanding. You both were doing parts of the transaction a bit out of order Sending payment info before solid deal is struck , and talking about paying, but at the same time making an counter offer.

Was a final price and shipping agreed on? No. You telling me something is mine only matters if we have come to terms on the item. I cannot say to you after you have expressed interest in an item:
"Here, this item is yours for XXX dollars and here is my bank details, Pay me."
You and I have not come to agreement on price and terms

Secondly, no follow up contact was made, as was asserted by the OP.

I said I was interested. I asked if price included better shipping and if the OP would trade. At NO point did I say I'll take it for the price and shipping method asked. Look at the messages and see for yourself. You can see my questions and the OPs response. There is no "feels like in this argument. There is simply yes or no. Did I say "yes, ill take the item for the $$$ value shipped how you describe?" No.

I take full responsibility for stepping away from the internet for a while, however the assertion that terms were agreed upon and that contract was made is false. Am I taking this personally? Damm right, I have someone calling me an idiot and saying that I somehow screwed them in a deal on a forum where money changes hands. On a forum where I hope to buy and sell items. That is personal.

Again, there is no "feels like" in this argument. There is simply yes or no. Did I say "yes, ill take the item for the $$$ value shipped how you describe?" No. Did the OP then start a thread disparaging me, lying about making additional contact? Yes.

Hi all,

Just a quick note to say that 'new member' aussiedude (and Platinum to boot.... Unfortunately premium Membership doesn't equal premium intelligence...) PM'ed me and said "I'll take it" from a sale thread of mine.

Where did he say "I'll take it" I don't see it in the sales thread.

Armadew

"Where did he say "I'll take it" I don't see it in the sales thread."

Thank you. That is because I did not post "ill take it" anywhere. The only contact I had with the OP was via message service on blade forums, all of which I have posted for people to see.

Twice you said, paraphrasing, "give me your bank details and I'll send the money." You should refrain from using unconditional language if you mean a conditional response.

Here are your quotes:

"Flick me your bank details and I'll get the dollars transferred through."

"If you still have it (the sayoc) let me know (and send me your email address) and I'll transfer you the funds and will send you an email showing confirmation tomorrow."

Don't try to make it seem like you were just obviously kicking tires, and not trying to commit to a purchase. For a guy who admits he screwed up, you're not really great at taking your lumps. Looks like the OP may be trying to make it look like you were worse than you were, but this point I agree with him on.

There's definitely some ambiguity here. Looks to me like the buyer last asked whether the $620 price included express shipping. OP may not have caught that bit and assumed that since the buyer had asked for the bank info and said he'd send payment it was a done deal - all while the buyer was waiting for confirmation on the $620 express shipped question. Miscommunication I think. I can see why OP would be pissed, and the buyer too. How about stop trying to "win" the argument and just do the deal now (assuming the knife is still available)? Everyone wins.

Agreed

@Dangerously

"If you still have it (the sayoc) let me know (and send me your email address) and I'll transfer you the funds and will send you an email showing confirmation tomorrow."
-This was sent AFTER I finally got online AFTER my time away AFTER the OP has posted this thread. The OP's response was linking me to this thread and telling me to "Enjoy your stay."

"For a guy who admits he screwed up, you're not really great at taking your lumps. Looks like the OP may be trying to make it look like you were worse than you were, but this point I agree with him on."
-That's a fair cop. I agree I was offline for a while. It was unavoidable. It is my fault. What is not my fault is that you feel that a deal was finalised. Where was the "i'll take it" post. Where was the comment agreeing to terms.

"Flick me your bank details and I'll get the dollars transferred through."
-The context of that quote is me trying to get a better price on shipping and asking for a trade. I was not kicking tyres, I want the Sayoc (I still want the fudding thing). What I was attempting to do was to get a better price.

HappyDaddy:
AGREED!

***Edit***

I removed the previous stuff. I'll message the OP. If he is okay to continue the transaction at the agreed price then so am I. Will send him a PM.

Unless there is more info not presented the OP should change the title on this one-It was just a misunderstanding. I don't see the deal was made-close but no cigar.

Good idea Peter.
I agree.
Sometimes life, or shit, happens. I'm not seeing anything nefarious on Dean's part, at all.

Hi All,

Great thread.

Firstly, Haggling over a fixed price speaks volumes...

A couple of things to note,
Before putting up this thread I pm'ed the last guy that aussiedude purchased from and asked him what the experience was like because I was starting to wonder whats was happening while waiting fro a response (read - I'll wait to hear from you).... He replied that aussiedude was OK from his perspective.... However he also said that he was slow to pay and slow too communicate. Further to that, I checked aussiedudes log-in time every day and his usual practice was to log in everyday and very early in the morning (4-5am approx) so I new that there was no way he had 'gone bush' and missed my PM.

Then after waiting some more, I turned to the exchange. So this thread was far from a knee-jerk reaction....

aussiedude:

Thanks for the PM after two weeks. I'll get back to you within 24 hours with a reply.

Perhaps this thread has done its job and saved any of the 1000+ viewers any future frustration. Further to that the aggrieved have had a chance to respond. So I'm taking the "BAD" out of the title even though that is a perfectly accurate description of the experience.

Oh, and minor point:

The original sale thread said "Not interested in Trades, Cash is king" and "Price shown is shipped with tracking".....

Always makes me wonder about folks when they PM looking for trades and shipping not mentioned in the thread...

You said that I messaged you saying "Ill take it." You have Lied, this did not happen. Show me where I said this.
You said you sent me follow up messages? Lie, this did not happen. Show me where you did this
You said that you PM'ed the last person I purchased from? Okay, post up the screen shot to prove it. All I have to go on is his feedback score, which is positive... On a side note his payment did take longer than I would have liked as it required the physical transfer of cash through an exchange.

You insult me, you lie about the conversations you have, which I have shown in my screen grabs,

Also:
"The original sale thread said "Not interested in Trades, Cash is king" and "Price shown is shipped with tracking"....."
-Have a screen shot. Your original thread says Cash is king. It does not say "Not interested in trades (another lie.)
-It says shipped with tracking. How many methods does that entail? Does that not mean I can ask for something different?

"Firstly, Haggling over a fixed price speaks volumes... "
-WTF What does that even mean? So, when you post a "fixed price" price anyone trying to get a better deal is being a prick?

You keep telling miss truths. I keep posting up screen shots to show this.
