Thanks James, I love "THE BIG SHIELD":D and everything else bout Charlies "Black Jack", I was fortunate to receive an early bird special like Barry due to the extreme kindness of an esteemed forum member here:thumbsup: The kind gesture include one for another esteemed member, our LEGENDARY Kiwi brother Duncan:) unfortunately, Duncan waits patiently to receive many of the knives we enjoy right out of the gateo_O

Early birds to 3 number one type guys...there's no place like the porch!!!:cool: Duncan really gets his money's worth! Long after you have your's and are lookin' for the next acquisition he's still enjoying the anticipation.;)
 
Of all the knives I've had this year I really want one of these Black Jacks. Dealer said I was late on the list so we'll see I guess. When I got the micarta I knew it was a special pattern to me. The ebony just makes if outstanding. All of the "silver" embellishments really push it.

I'm a huge fan of vintage pre 80s Case Swell End Jacks, and this is a dead ringer but even more put together with the 1095 steel imo. I do hope they do another one of these next year. I'd likely buy several.

My favorite combination of "window dressing" is a jet black covered knife (ebony or blackwood no matter sol long as jet black, and all white trim. I didnt realize these have white liners and pins. Too often we get the white blades, white bolster and then brass liners and pins. But all white is my favorite. Remember the first run of 77's? 2 blades. Nickle silver all the way around....awesome sfo waynorth waynorth ! Congrats.
 
Blacks Jacks are up ! 7:04PM I was surfing Gunstock Jacks. I spotted the Charlie #86 Black Jack. And I snagged one. I have suffered all day in chronic phantom pain with no sleep. I refused to go to sleep and miss this knife. I am blessed on this one. I am glad it came in before the stag. I have to go to the bank on Monday and put a little money in my account. This is the GEC knife of the year to me. "GEC knife collecting is war !" Thank You Mr. Barry ! I bought this knife before I spotted the notification email. I fought hard for this one. I need some sleep now.
