Notice!! A Black Jack!!

Since this thread has received a bump, I gotta say, it hurts my eyes to see dice on a knife named ā€œBlack Jackā€ and even further burns to see that the numbers on the dice are wrong, opposite sides are supposed to add up to 7.

Hope you’re happy with it though!
Hmm...turn the fours into fives?

I bought this Waynorth Black Jack 86 at the recent NOS sale that Barry had...... I also have an original (2019) two blader and a factory single blade version.....
I've always considered this knife as the best of the best..... It is a wonderful knife from both a functional and aesthetic standpoint....

So what is the plan for those blades??

one was an experiment in my knife building attempts. I tried to sand down the tang to fit my 86 delete springs which became more than the tools at my disposal could manage.

one became a custom sterling 86 with a spring donated from a steel 2ab barlow.

lastly, if i do land one or maybe two, a large soup bone 86 hopefully. but im 0/3 on this 86 run so far. maybe ill bide my time for these projects. good things come to those who wait.

Hello,like Charlie I'm fan of symbols :)
The original drawing come from a David Prudhomme cartoon titled Rebetiko which talk about this music and dance of the port of Piraeus in Greece. It was played in the tavern and whorehouse by a population who fled from Smyrna ( now Izmir ) when it became Turkish.

Here is the music by one of its most famous artist :

But the position of the dancer is really close to the basic step of the Capoeira, brasilian martial art I practice :

And last I teach stick fencing so I have added a stick in his hand .

Sorry for the off topic o_O

Thanks to you and

Ive been watching you tube videos to hear the songs, still looking for some dancing videos though yet to find any.

To me it seems more reminiscent of what I heard in small Spanish tabernas away from the tourists, not in sound but in simplicity, working class and emotion.

Very handsome knife, I have not had any success trying to get any GEC new from a dealer, idk how people do it. I don’t want to collect or hoard them, just be able to buy one at a normal price when one comes along that catches my eye.
The scalpers and collectors that spend so much time and effort into snatching them off the market is discouraging for a working man like me.
I’m consistently amazed at the size of many peoples collections, every flavor type of thing, when I have managed to buy only 1 in a year of looking.

I fall in love with so many of the beautiful knives from GEC that are shared here, just frustrating when I can’t own one without paying double the MSRP.

Charlie has had such a great influence on the traditional knife market, I’m grateful for folks like him that are keeping the old patterns alive.

That feeling when you going through a "new" thread, then realize it's a revival. 🤪 I read first post and for a few moments I thought "What? Another Charlie's SFO that soon?!" 🤣 Would be cool, though, but hey, good things should come in small packages. Preferably tubes. šŸ˜‰
