Now that I know what a BOB is . . .

Pygmy Falcon II. Check out LA Police Gear. They have three colors at $49.99 clearance price right now.

I got that one at the same place clearanced out around $35 a year or so ago.

I've been patiently waiting to see if the current crop of khaki, black, or tan will drop another notch, but it may not happen.

I have three bug out bags (each a "day" sized back pack- one for me, one for wife, one for the boy). Each is a commercially prepared 72 hour kit, to which I add the additional necessities, like knives, bullets etc. Plus about 2 or three months of food, and water filtration if I have to hunker down for a spell. Though honestly if it gets that serious, I will be making the drive to my parents house (they have 2+ year supply of food and my dad has more bullets stashed away than I could ever shoot).

Use a maxpidition Pygmy Falcon II and Proteus

Falcon has my capilene, fleece top, 2 nalgene's, compass, firestarter, energy bars, mirror, water purification tabs, para cord, G23 and MrS. Few other things.

I carry my Proteus every day and can attach it to Falcon with malice clips, it has my mulitool, surfire L1, medicine, Sig 232, ink pen, compass, fleece cap,
and a few other small things.

I just leave the Falcon in the truck, havn't even looked in it in a while.

The PROTEUS is really handy though, carry it everyday.

I have been lookin at a Monsoon Gearslinger myself, I really like the looks of the pygmy though...and the price.

whatdya have in yours? For those of you who are clueless like me a BOB is a "bug out bag".

And just to so you don't try anything funny, I already know that a bottle of scotch is required.

Jim Beam of course.....Bottle Of Bourbon! I thought we were talking serious stuff :p  LOL

Honestly, I thought Bob was a drinking buddy at first.

In my world Bob is code my friends use for another mind-altering substance.

The whole BOB thing has taken on an interesting slant for me, living in Idaho. The majority religious denomination in my area is Mormon (they prefer the term LDS, but few people outside the faith seem to recognize what that means), which, among other things, promotes self-reliance as a matter of doctrine. The more dedicated members of the church have enough canned goods and water stored in their homes to support the family for a year. There is an entire cottage industry of designing "food storage" rooms with special racks to deliver the cans in chronological order.

All of that is a long way of saying that I don't expect there to be riots (food or otherwise) in my community.

So what you are saying is that Mormon/LDS country will be good for pilaging when the need arises? :D

I would not recommend that. Lots of Mormons (my self included) are also well armed. :D

We will also probably hold you hostage and try and convert you......and if that does not work, the Missionaries will follow you home and bother you:)

And right there is the reason I didn't go to Bringham Young University on a golf scholarship.

Yep... the LDS members I've known have had self-reliance in the event of disaster as a taught skill/value at an early age. I dated a Mormon girl in early college (much to the chagrin of her Dad) and was surprised to "discover" the store room of emergency rations in their rather stately home. He was a pilot for a major airline... REALLY nice home.

I will say (since I'm not LDS and am thus not an expert in such) that when viewed as a culture instead of a religion, there are some pretty admirable values of education and self-reliance. That and the "girl genes" were REALLY healthy in every circumstance I found!! (oops... was that the "outside" voice?!)

I better shut up and have another beer now... I'm bordering too close to politics/religion here when that's not my intent - more so that I have a respect for the values of self-reliance.

My faith is steadfast, you never know I might convert some of you. :D I would imagine that any one who has the foresight to store that much food and supply is going to have a way to defend it. I thinks the LDS brothers here are safe.

Sounds like a good choice on your part. :D

All I want to know is if you got to see her underware.
