I dont know how anyone could own a Microtech knife if they knew about this.

If I owned one of their knives, I wouldn't even want to sell it, because I would be ashamed to let someone else have it.

From this point forward, I refuse to buy ANY knife from ANY dealer who associates themselves with Microtech.

YMMV

EDIT: I just realized one of my favorite dealers sells MT. I am going to email them to inform them that if they continue buying Microtech products they have lost me as a customer for life.
EDIT #2: email sent.

It embarrasses me to say I live a half hour from where Microtech is located. Started looking at their knives at one time but overpricing kept me from trying one out. After seeing this mentioned in another thread awhile back I'm glad I couldn't afford to buy any of their knives...........

I sincerely hope Kershaw/KAI takes action against this. I know imitation is the highest form of flattery but this is rediculous escpecially since they have the nerve to charge much more for much less.

Just found another dealer that's advertising the Matrix on their site. Feel free to PM me if you want to know.

Not my vid

If its in bad taste to post it I will take her down.

Wow... usually when I see the really indignant posturing on this forum I write it off as ardent brand fans defending their turf.

But I really don't see how much more blatant Microtech could have been with producing an outright copy this time. Really... I was honestly floored.

If I was a dealer that had some of those and hadn't seen the ZT777, I would pack all of them up and send them back after a quick glance at the ZT. That type of theft/activity is just disgusting and unnecessary. How low can Microtech go? They already get a super premium for a so/so knife, so the least they could do is design their own product.

Go get 'em, Thomas. Kill.

Microtech, digs deeper yet again in an attempt to find out just how low they can go... They must have found the home off Beelzebub by now. How can we stop this mockery of ownership rights?

I saw a picture of one on another forum and I figured they had to have a deal with Kershaw/ZT. I was amazed to find that they didn't. I mean, this isn't simply a case of copying design cues of a ho-hum knife; they literally just dipped a 777 in wax and made an exact replica (sans everything technical that makes the 777 awesome). Given the amount of design work that went into the 777 I would be pissed if I had any part in its creation. But of course since it's Microtech they kept the price. Classy!

I wanna know. I'll PM you.

Go Thomas go!

I would think there would be some future risk with any dealer that decided to carry these counterfeits.

Not only from you (Kai) but us as well. As a consumer, I will not be purchasing from any dealer selling this item.

If I was a dealer this would be my biggest concern. This industry is too small to jeopardize your business and reputation over 1 knockoff.

This stuff still just stuns me. I get why nameless, cheap knockoffs exist. But I can't imagine this will hurt KAI anywhere near as much as it will hurt Microtech. If ethics won't stop you from doing this, it seems like good business sense should. The percentage of the population that will drop $500-600 on a knife is fairly small and word travels very fast in this day and age. It seems incredibly stupid to alienate so many potential customers for the sake of a quick, dirty buck.

I am so glad I have never bought a Microtech. I would feel sickened to own one of their knives now. I wonder how it would go if we as consumers started sending complaint emails to Microtech? I don't even like capitalizing their name.

Bingo.Once word gets around its a death sentence.I was happy to see that KnifeArt took it off their site.Good on you KA!

I've ordered from them many times and didn't want something like this to sever a relationship.

This is my opinion as well. It just seems like a totally boneheaded move. Microtech already has a hardcore following that will pay serious cash for just about anything they put out. Why do they need to copy a single flipper design by one of the biggest names in the knife business? I really don't understand the thinking (or lack thereof).
