Number 77 Barlow SFO Question

I am now keeping a status for this allocation on my home page.
Good idea. Maybe that will keep down at least some of the questions and emails. I'm sure you're being swamped but just remember how much your efforts are greatly appreciated!

I will not mail until all the allocation is complete. I am now keeping a status for this allocation on my home page.
Thanks for the reply and the allocation on your home page! Really stoked about these barlows. I got my first TC about a month ago and to add another barlow with hopefully rich nice looking stag scales would top it off! Stag is by far one of my favorite handle materials when done right.

All further posts in this thread will be about KNIVES and not about their procurement.

I think the AB barlows are supposed to arrive around the 31st. Right in time for pumpkin disection. Or carving, however you want to put it.
How many of each will be made?

Email Mike Latham. He has a store. He has a web site.

The Traditional Forum is dedicated to the discussion of Traditional Knives. It is not intended to be an extension of a commercial storefront. If you have a commercial question about an SFO, it is expected that you contact the vendor, not post it in a discussion forum.

Gary and I will defend the Traditional Forum and maintain its focus on discussing knives, not where to buy them. We have tried asking. We have tried asking in giant font, such as my recent request in giant font in this thread. Even the giant font is not working. So, infractions.

So to get back on track, I have been very happy with the size of the S & M Heritage series, but only really thrilled with the fit and finish of one of the two I have bought. Conversely, I LOVE the fit and finish of my recent Charlow single blade spear, but wish it were a bit bigger than tje 15 frame allows. REALLY hoping the blackwood 77 I am waiting for fills this gap. I am really obsessed with the 85 as well, so I hope this fits nicely into the family. If so, I think the 77 is really going to take off.
Also; Mike, very sincerely, thank you for all the effort you have made to make this happen! 8 was fortunate enough to come across one of your earlier liner lock 85 SFO knives. I will have that one until the day I die.
Thanks.

I like the sawed bone and pioneer bone on a Barlow. The stag looks great, but I prefer bone on Barlow knives. Can't wait for mine to arrive.

Am loving the photos of the Rose Bone that GEC posted. Stoked!

Just got the email for the Pioneer Bone but I'll have to free it up to a happy home. I can't afford it right now.

These 77 barlows should be called Marlows. Charlie's Charlows? Mikes Marlows.

Ok, yeah I get it. Sure makes sense to me. Really Mike deserves his recognition for bringing this knife to the public. Thanks Mike I'm looking forward to my sawcut Marlow.

So riddle me this...hypothetically let's say someone named Bob does a run of long bolster 15's or 77's. What do we call these knives? Ummmm.....Barlows?????!!!! Lol (insert rimshot here)

Bob is short for Robert so I believe, in that case, they would be Roblows.

My cable’s out, so I’m down at the rec center watching folks swim. And coon fingerin my #77 Barlow.

Makes it kinda creepy. Haha

But seriously, I wish I'd have gotten on for one. Might still try. Idk though.

Didn't think I was going to be able to swing one of these right now, had signed up for two and backed out of the list to let others get in since I wasn't sure I'd be able to take advantage of my place in line. But...as luck would have it...I can swing one and the stag ones are available for public order now so I decided to go for it. Hoping I get a little luckier with the stag on this one than I did my forum knife, would love some nicely figured and matched stag....it looks so good in the barehead configuration with the barlow bolsters.

My only concern is how high the wharncliffe blade rides when using the clip blade. I've tried a wharncliffe trapper and really didn't like it for that reason, but the trapper frame is a little different and these do seem to ride pretty low all things considered so I'm hoping it works out.

Can't wait to see some real world pics of these as people start to receive them!

I understand how you feel about well matched stag. I was surprised that not many people jumped on the early reserve for stag. I got on the early reserve for it months ago. I hope that it pays off in that I will be able to pick some gorgeous rich and moderately thick scales. In my opinion, I think well matched stag looks nicer than most bone handles. A lot of people like the chestnut sawcut bone, but for some reason it never really appealed to me.
