With his review of the Blue Manix 2. Not for the review in which he sung the praises of this fine knife.

But it was the way he's throwing in Oprah impressions, i.e. when he says the word "excellent" sounding like Oprah announcing her next guest, or a fabulous, colorful, male clothing designer would say the word.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with a lot of the same ideas NF has about pocket knives.

It's just that in my opinion, he has jumped the shark. Maybe he did a long time ago to a lot of people.

Not to be rude, but why the Spyderco forum for this topic? He reviews many brands of knives the same as any other. This should have been posted in General discussion.

He lost me as soon as he started labeling knives as tactical, which was right at the start.

Don't watch his reviews then. There's still a lot to be gained from his opinions if you can get over his terminology - and I don't let it bother me anyway.
His reviews afford me impressions that I wouldn't be able to get in any other way, except if I were lucky enough to find a dealer who carries the knife.
Chances of that are slim in Holland.

Some people like him...some will not.

If you don't like him get over it and don't watch him...

That is just how he is and I believe he tries his best at everything even though he is a dork most of the time. But he even says he is one himself...

Lemme get this straight--you don't like the way he talks? Don't like how he enunciates his words? If Nutnfancy has truly "lost" you, why don't you just stop watching his reviews? Or do you require others to chime in on the defects that you see with his presentation? Don't worry, it will be okay. Go grab yourself a cookie and a juice box. Be a nice boy.

These kinds of threads pop up all of the time, and will produce people on both sides of the fence. It will be mildly entertaining as well as a complete waste of everyone's time.

A guy talking about knives...

I guess if you could hear the way half the people talk on this forum you might stop reading here? Seriously, it's a guy sharing his enthusiasm for knives...pretty tough for me to find much fault.

I'd second that. Plus, his SHOT Spyderco interview w/Ed Schempp opened my world to a line of (tragically discontinued) knives that I hadn't taken seriously but am now kicking myself for missing at reasonable prices. I owe NF a huge debt of gratitude. (Although my cash flow hates him )

don't watch his reviews then. what's the point of your post? are you trying to make sure he gets less views on youtube? are you watching out for you fellow bladeforumites so we are not exposed to his "different than your's" mannerisms?
Yeah he uses the word excellent. So freaking what. He also says dudes. Do you think he gives a damn what you think about his speech? Do you think he gives a damn what people think if he wears a fanny pack around town? Nutnfancy obviously has got some cash and alot of time on his hands. I assume he is retired or works from home or something. I am jealous of that, and if I could bet here, I would bet you're pretty jealous too. So out of our jealousy (just assuming you are, i know you might not be) lets just find things to make fun of him for. For what? I don't know. Thats why I aint gonna do it. Nutnfancy to me sounds like someone who is a lover of life, and is very comfortable with who he is and how he acts. You on the other hand I feel the opposite. I'm also going to assume you are homophobic, and also an Oprah hater. While i'm assuming, I suppose you are either

1. unhappily married. still.

2. divorced, and your ex-wife got all sexy and hot again and is routinely getting drilled every night by a 30 something year old well endowed stud.

or....most likely

3. single like you have been your whole life.:jerkit:

so my advice to you is to freaking get laid. I think it would help your douchebaggery problem. DUDE!

I value the impressions that Nut&Fancy gives, he reviews a lot of stuff much more thoroughly than your average reviewer. Even if he has a lot of interesting views, a lot of his perspectives on "combat" use can be translated to utility use.

I like his reviews. But I have a sweet spirit. :p

His personality is a little over the edge, but thats also what makes him fun to watch. Compare his videos to those of the average stiff who makes youtube videos, and you quickly see the difference. Most are flat, lifeless, and boring. At least Nutnfancy is into it, and for me that helps make his videos fun to watch. Buffalo is right about him stretching 4 minutes worth of material into 15 minutes.

I watch his & mostly every knife review on MUTE.I just want to see the knife "in hand" anyway. All that talking just distracts me.

I do not know about the others but I like his reviews compare to other people on YouTube. His talking is also good IMHO. I am not sure how I would be able to watch a video with know commentary.

Rock on Nutn... :D

Some of his knife videos are too long. I like the old days when he reviewed his Caly 3 and Benchmade 940 in 10 minutes. Now he can go on about a knife for 40 minutes!

I like his reviews, but yeah, I may not be in agreement with everything, but that's life.

I don't think it's wrong though if someone wishes to express their opinion of him on this
forum (which is done a lot) even if it's negative.

I find nutnfancy to be one of the few better reviewers out there. His presentations are to the point and very well done.
