Nutnfancy Has the best video Reviews

he never does any cut test though. bottles of water, cutting paper, shaving wood, ect...

he does do nice vids though.

I've never seen the use of bottle cutting test. Is there a reason other than to show you can do it?

Anyway, I do like nutn's vids because of the picture quality and like somebody stated earlier its good to see a knife in hand

... yeah, but have you seen the chisled physique of Archman on YouTube??? Now THAT guy know what he's talkin' 'bout...:D :D :D

Haha, I get it...

Seriously, ArchieBlue, your knife reviews are the most helpful for my standards/for what I'm looking for on youtube. They're terrific, keep them up.

As far as Nutnfancy, it's not my cup of tea, but as a few smart forumites noted....I'm a big boy and can make up my own mind. The more people out there reviewing products, putting them out there to see, etc., the better! I say thanks to him for putting videos up!

chill out..do u live in the hood??
its called humor:D
try it:cool:
by the way..i do live in the hood::cool:
not a very safe or nice place, but its home..have seen more guns and knives in use on the streets, talk about real world experience huh?

Where we live has nothing to do with our credentials for posting here, and as the new kid on the block, boasting about your "hood" does nothing to establish yours. Humor varies from person to person. Learn your way around here before expecting us to recognize yours.

I strongly suggest you read the FAQ and concentrate on Warnings and Infractions if you expect to be here long.

i don't like his videos, but I'm glad he makes them. He could perhaps say "tactical" a bit less, though.

How about the way he pronounces aesthetic (ASSthetic!) He also likes the words jimping and choil.

But, he is filling a niche in the knife review world. I don't see too many others doing a better job at the videos.

There are on the other hand, a lot of lousy video knife reviewers.

My hat's off to Nutnfancy, if I'm considering a knife, I'll see what he has to say about it.

I like nutnfancy. While I don't always agree with his opinion, his reviews do contain A LOT of information about a particular knife. It's always nice to know about standard stuff like how fast the blade opens, how sharp is it out of the box, and how big is it compared to his other knives.

If nothing else, his video quality is pretty darn good, and it allows me to see the knife in high definition from all angles. The only way for me to find out more is by physically going to a store and hold the knife in my own hands.

I think we're better off having him do what he's doing than not having him there. Like all internet info, it should be taken with a grain of salt. Your own experience is what's important. If you don't like his reviews, don't watch them. They're just another point of reference like any other and I appreciate the effort he puts in.

I also like to see his videos, he often provides a lot of information. Not all information that he provides is useful for me personal, but knowledge is great and perhaps it becomes useful one day.

I see a lot videos, some are really bad, but his are actually quite good. Even though English is not my native language, I can understand him well and he usually presents his information in a structured way.

the annoying part is the absolute idiots that copy him and make their own reviews. saying pretty much the exact same ish nuntfancy does except they are just regurgitating what he syas without having a clue. then you have 12 year old kids talking about why this knife is 'tactical' or not. i swear everytime i hear opinions on some dumbass boyscout talking about if he thinks a knife is tactical or not it makes me want to punch babies.

ahhh yes bottle cutting, you must NOT be a redneck then :D I might be one but bottle cutting is actually a fairly good gauge of a knife's slicing capacity. The current world record is something like 19.

He has a few good vids, however I don't like how he calls everyone that disagrees with him an "armchair elitist". I liked his earlier vids, but now it seems like he really starts to rant and go off topic a lot. He's not the best, but he's also not the worst.

His view of several firearms certainly does not match up to my quality standards, but being a accuracy orientated target shooter it's understandable.
In general the reviews are interesting, and I commend him for putting the time and effort in.

Seriously...

I love his reviews if only to let you know if a knife has bladeplay or mechanical flaws. I get most of my knives online, so watching him handle them for me is a good step in evaluating a purchase decision.

I like his videos.Don't agree with everything he says but then who totally agrees with anyone? lol! He must be commended for providing generally good info on a bunch of topics.
But since they expanded the time limit on youtube videos hes started to run a little long.
I generally find the shorter time limit forced people on youtube to be more focused with their content and reduced the amount of meandering.

I was surprised however by nutnfancy's tent videos.
Seeing as how he is almost obsessed with knife weight (knives being too heavy) and gun weight i figured he'd focus on some lightweight bivy sacks or lightweight tents.
Instead he avoided them all together and went with the medium to large tents.
Good reviews but i was really hoping for stuff on the lightweights.
Oh well, maybe he will do them later.

I like his reviews to get a 360 view of the knife. He usually turns the knife around and points out small things like blade play and such. But table-top reviews just dont cut it when it comes to showing performance. Unlike him, I don't really care about weight to much, and so stainless liners are a must! (If you watch his vids, you will know hes obsessed with weight and doesn't like ss liners)

honestly when i order something online, i watch online vids and reviews about the product i ordered everyday before it comes to pump myself up.....:(

;)

NutNFancy is who got me back into knives and made me
really start learning about different steels, brands, etc.
He definitely is the one who revived what would have been
a forgotten hobby. Gotta give him props for that.

Not being exactly a newbie, but having been away from knife buying for a number of years, I was looking for information on what's currently available and came here and to several other forums. I also started searching YouTube when a particular knife caught my attention. Repeatedly I kept finding reviews by Nutnfancy.
In general, I find YouTube reviews helpful, and his more helpful than most.

Are his definitive? Not generally. Are they better than most? Almost always. Could he use the word "tactical" a little less? Probably, but that is the point of view he is coming from in most of his knife reviews. When you view the ones on multi-tools the T word doesn't tend to show up.

Several people commented on his not discussing ergonomics and that confuses me. In the ones I've seen, he addresses that about as much as is reasonable. After all, isn't that subject rather specific to the user? I may find a knife that feels perfect to me but feels totally wrong to you. Nothing beats actually handling the knife yourself, something I'm sure we have all found out to our regret.

How you feel about his videos probably depends on what your expectation are. In my case I'm looking for a bit more than I can get from looking at a picture (generally not very good) from a dealer or manufacturer and a bit more info than just the specs. He fulfills those expectations very well. When you combine that with reviews and comments here, you're a lot closer to making an informed purchase.

I sent him a thank you note the other day and said he had saved me some money, had given me some ideas, and added to my knowledge. Really, thats a lot more than I initially expected from YouTube videos.
