Nutnfancy Has the best video Reviews

Woohoo a Nutnfancy thread!

I like the guy, he provides a service for free that many won't do

Yes he has his opinions, but we are all grown ups and we can make decisions for ourselves. I appreciate seeing his take on many of the popular knives that are available.

Keep up the good work Nutnfancy:thumbup:

Now I'm gonna put on my flame suit:cool:

+1 ! He´s doing an awesome job!

At the very least he is out there testing, most people watch and whine.

My ONLY gripe with him is that he finds all folders heavy. :p

He doesn't claim to be an expert and I watch the reviews based on that. If it wasn't for guys like him, Noss all the work that Cliff Stamp did et.al. and the very few that post field reviews (good or bad) this forum would be very theoretical, every knife would perform excellent because they look good or they are made famous makers.

Good post Dante, very true.

Just watched his review of the marlin papoose take down .22 yesterday, he did a really good job of it.

A lot of people post very reasonable reviews here. I don't know as I would count Noss and Cliff Stamp among them (reviews, yes; reasonable, probably not), but there are many active members who use their knives and report on the results. They may not get the same amount of attention as those performing spectacular feats of knife abuse, but then, that's just how these things work.

I didn't used to like his vids but the more I watch his vids the more I like them. I do have to hit mute from time to time when he goes "on and on" but, like most mentioned here, I'm sure that there are people that are way annoyed at my vids too. I guess we can all find something wrong with one and other if we try.

I'm just glad people (including him) are willing to post knife vids on YouTube.

:)

Nutnfancy doesn't have the best knife reviews. Cutlerylover has the best by far. Much more info too. He also does design theorys of some types of knives which is also makes very good videos.

All of his reviews are way too long for me. Out of his 20minute reviews probably only 8minutes of that time is actually useful. IMHO I don't need to listen to what he thinks/feels/did that is entirely unrelated to the blade. Just tell me about the knife please.
However, his reviews do give the viewer a good idea of what the knife is actually like, something that photos rarely do.

As stated before, at least he puts a lot of energy into this. Some of his reviews are too long-winded, but he seems well-informed. I think his reviews are among the best on youtube.

I tried to put a review on the internet as well, but it was damn more difficult than I thought initially. The angle, the time you say 'eeh', correct terminology etc. Right now I am re-re-re-re-recording the whole thing, and it's just a bloody 4 minutes review on my Fehrman knife!

I certainly haven't found him to be opinionated, as others have stated. He is not overly knowledgeable-- but he doesn't come across as trying to be, either.

I appreciate him for the simple fact that he showcased an amazing knife called the Fitzen Tank. It's a brutal and massive clip-point bowie knife made by John Fitzen. It's looks like something medieval. I need to get one.

Anyone else seen this knife?

I've watched more than a few reviews by him, and they've all been very informative.

He can be a little hard to listen to at times, but I'm really not expecting a perfectly polished, pre-scripted, expertly filmed video with staff-produced research in a Youtube video.

...Iit would make me really happy if he'd stop pronouncing Choil "Choyill," though.

Yeah, he can talk.:D But that's a good thing when your wanting to learn from someone who's out there. Testing gear in the great outdoors while recording it to put on youtube is a lot of hard work. I like the fact he's not trying to sell me anything. I've learned a lot of practical skills from Nutn and am grateful for his time.

Big fan right here. I take what I need and am better from it. This, I feel, is what life is all about. Once you stop learning, you should be dead.
Nutn provides good info and he himself says he is continuing to learn and does not profess to be a master at anything.
What else on Utube is this valuable? have not seen anything close yet.
Keep it up Nutn.

My issue is that his appeared lack of knowledge does affect the quality of his reviews. I have watched him do things wrong, and I have watched people defend that. Lack of knowledge or some practical experience is not a crime, and I take what I can from the reviews, but not everything he does or says is good info. You can support, defend, or skewer him if you like, it should only be part, a small part, of how the end user makes a decision.

For an overall reviewer, Nutin... is hard to beat. I like how he shows the features of the knives he reviews that are important to him. I take that into consideration and like the fact that he's out in the mountains of Utah working with the knives he reviews, while most other reviewers are at home sitting on their fat A$$E$. His videos are intertaining and informative and he covers a broad spectrum of outdoor interests. So, I think that those who don't like him should just not watch his videos. But, I personally hope he does much more. I think he does a load of good and he makes sense of many things to new campers, hikers, etc.

+1 for the fitzen tank, although i differ with him on some philosophies

And i appreciate nutn, i just do it with the mute on :)

this is the kind of thing that i appreciate. i was thinking about picking up one of these, and now i won't be.

i cut myself while watching that vid. i was flicking my old Kershaw Scallion and my pinkie got in the way. i convexed it a while back and it's such a wicked little cutter that i didn't even bleed.

I like his stuff. He put's in ALOT of time and effort making all these videos, testing gear, blades, guns and whatever else. And those people who were saying cutlerylover doesn't review knives anymore should have realized by now that that is rubbish....right? Hey talking about stupid stuff you did when you were new, heres mine. I saw a knife in a shop that I liked the look of, but I didn't know what it was like. So I started a thread.....asking if the delica was any good. The delica, I mean the things awsome and widley loved, but I was new :o. Not as bad as the guy who fell for the "hey that looks like a fake, send it to me" though :D:D.
