(I'm trying this again in what is hopefully a more appropriate venue than W&C, tell me if it was dumb to post here)

OK, I've been on the forum for a couple years here, and to be honest, the guy who helped me get really well acquainted with knives, blade steel, manufacturers, and knife usage is Nutnfancy.

Now I understand he can be polarizing in his pol1t1ca1 views, his gear reviews, and just in general, the way he does things.
I think it is pertinent for me to say that I agree with 98% of his pol1t1ca1 views, and don't think he is a windbag or blowhard when it comes to knives, outdoorsy stuff, and the tactical shtick.

I also find some of his longer winded reviews to be entertaining as well as informational, though I don't watch everything he puts out.

I do get weary with silly unboxing and first impression videos done by the majority. They are a dime a dozen on YouTube and I don't really have the time to get what is essentially a non-review for an item I might be interested in buying.

But I'm wondering why it seems a huge majority of the forumites here (at least from what I've seen) think/feel that he isn't worth the oxygen he sucks.

Every once in a while he mentions why he doesn't frequent the knife forums as often as he used to a while ago due to people a. Thinking that he (Nutnfancy) doesn't know ANYTHING about what he's talking about and b. People putting crap on other people's ideas, opinions, and systems, while talking up their experience with little in the way of actual proof.

Y'all will probably think I am a dummy for even typing out this guys screen name, but I'm just curious why the bulging veins over this guy...

Where is the pic of nuntins lips made up like he's in a wind tunnel when I need it LOL

Seriously though, I have watched some of his reviews and appreciate getting to see a product I am interested in before I buy it. That said, he strikes me as a wannabe tactical backyard commando. Just my opinion.

Oh yea I forgot about his supporting fakes, not a good move. Damn it now I'm off to find that pic.

This is more like it! 😉
Discussion, valid opinion and discourse!

A- his review on the Sebenza was laughable.
B-he's allergic to anything over .0000001 ounces.
C-he thinks anything over $5 costs too much.
D-he yells JIMPAAANG which drives me nuts.
E-"dudes" "T.N.P.ers"
F-skateboard tape everywhere
G-everything he touches instantly becomes tactical.
H-he dresses like he's going to the front lines and carries a crap load of "tactical gear" everywhere he goes
I-the "knife-check" or "gear check" or whatever he does when he makes sure everyone he sees has a knife, multi tool, gun, toaster, and a fully stocked toolbox "on their person at all times"

He's a mall ninja.
One for those people who think the planet will explode while they're having a Big Mac or something and feels the need to be able to spend 5 years in the parking lot.

But hey, the dude is passionate and enjoys what he does, so who am I to say he's wrong. He's happy with it all so let him do it. I just don't like it.
Just my opinions, don't kill me if you disagree.

I watched a few of his videos where he raved about some knives so I bought a sog flash 1 and Kershaw cryo and didn't like either of them so I think him and I don't have the same taste in knives.

Different opinions are cool!!
He grates on ya, I get it! 😉
Thanks for being honest, and not a jerk about it.

I like his reviews although some are to drawn out. He is very knowledgeable. I hardly think he's a mall ninja given his military background but my interpretation of a mall ninja could differ from yours. When I Google reviews he is one of the few I actually pay attention to he at least uses his stuff u like others who do reviews and say I've opened some envelopes and cut up boxes that is not a review imo. He is a bit quirky but I can deal with it. So yeah he's a good guy I would say

I agree!
I think he knows what he's talking about, and he's quick to say that he's not an expert when he goes into something else that he's not too big on, like martial arts, self-defense, or bushcraft.

I like that his name is good for free shipping from the c****** shoppe - not much else.

I haven't watched any of his philosophical or political uploads and could not be less interested to see them. He does relatively well shot videos on models of production knives that a lot of people consider buying, and on that basis alone he makes a useful contribution. He usually has enough knives on hand to make useful comparisons of the knife under review with other similar models. People who are put off by his egotism or whatever, I have to say, probably haven't watched many reviews on youtube. His preferences don't always line up with mine, but he's usually not dramatically wrong either. If he loves a knife it's unlikely to be a mistake to buy it, unless you are a real knife freak with very specific tastes, in which case you're not going to be relying on his videos anyway.

And, referring to a retired lieutenant colonel as a "mall ninja" or "wannabe commando" is an embarrassingly weak move. Just sayin.
